Has anyone ridden in Austria recently? I am heading over there in Aug and looking for advice/suggestions on where to ride.

Cheers

Suggest you contact Martin & Juliane from Rocky Trails Entertainment. Being from Austria and now running event back there, they should be able to offer some great advice.

From my own experience of mountain walking there I know you will be spoilt with choice!

I was in Austria very briefly last year. Pick a map, ride up the nearest hill, you're sure to find something good.

Amazing scenery everywhere. Ahh... the memories... Eye-wink

Sölden in the Tyrol region.

Big awesome ski resort with epic MTB options in summer.

Lifts can take you and your bike to 3200m and you can descend singletrack to the village - a 2000m vertical.

Or you can ride up to trails directly from the village. Great pubs and stuff in town too.

I was skiing there about 2 years ago. All i could think to myself was why the hell am i on skies!!! MTb must be insane there. I wanted to give snow mtb'ing a go thou.. Such an awesome place. Try find out about hopfgarten in the tirol region. Its situated within another 3 big mountains that are all connected by gondola. I was skiing there so i cant comment on the mtb'ing but i can only assume incredible things. Good luck!

Greetings from spring in Austria!
Agree with all the links and suggestions shared so far - here are a few that we really like:

If you go there, you MUST visit the wine museum in Langenlois near Krems, we just had a tour there and it JUST AWESOME!!! There is a hotel as well, very snazzy. We´ll stay there in a few weeks again and I can send you a review then (no doubt we´ll love it there)!
