Eva's Track (Manly Dam)
What is the history behind Eva's Track being banned for cyclists? The most direct route to Allambie Rd appears to be fire trail?

But you're not allowed on the walking track at the top ( I think that's right?)
Yep, as far as I'm aware that's right. The signs at the bottom facing riders who would be going up the fire trail from the main loop are a bit misleading.
The fire trail descent from behind the Lutheran homes is one of the main access points for the Dam circuit. Well overdue for attention from RFS, by the way, the condition is pretty poor.
But still unauthorized right?
Eva's Track proper = bike no-go.
Fire trail: well it's OK for vehicles and bicycles are vehicles, so with Warringah Council following the NPWS general rule that bikes are allowed on management tracks unless otherwise advised there's no impediment that I can see.
I *am* making some assumptions, but I'd expect that it would have raised itself as an issue by now given it's popularity, and I've not heard a peep about it from the rangers. So for the time being I am reasonably confident you can treat the fire trail as OK to ride.
It's too steep. Too much effort.
Go down it?
if you can ride it, you pay out som emore on OldnSlow
