Hay guys,

Slashed my tyre went to the shop and in my haste grabbed a tubeless tyre (Maxis Crossmark)just wondering if it is ok to use a tube in these tyres?

Reason I ask is that once the tyre is inflated it has a noticeable whobble (rim is straight) I have put different tubes in and pumped them up to max pressure unfortunately it is persisting. So I'm trying to figure out if it is the tube causing the issue or have I grabbed a dickie tyre?

Cheers

All you will need to do is keep inflating the tyre till the bead of the tyre beds into the rim.
Be careful not to overinflate and blow the tube.
If you want it to go in fast wet the tyre down with some soapy water.
This will help the bead slide in faster, without having to overinflate the tyre.

We run old tubeless tyres on our hard tails.

yep and soap up the bead a little too.

Or buy a tubeless conversion kit and get rid of that tooooob

I have had the same issue in the past. I think if you pump the tube up a bit before putting it into the tyre it helps spread the tube out more evenly.

I agree with Flynny though. Why not forget about the tube and convert to tubeless. IMHO it saves time and hassle and the lower pressure you run makes for a smoother ride.
