'13 Aust MTB champs location

I have a week off (only :S) in July between my internship placement and commencement of uni, and am going up to the Cairns area, closer to Atherton.
Was just wondering if anyone around here had done the Australian champs up in the same area; just wondering if someone knew the area where they were held; would be keen to check it out. Still not sure if I'll be hiring a bike and what not, but am curious to see the area, even if it is without a bike!

Awesome area. Here's my race profile and a ride in Davies Creek. The Specialized shop in Cairns and the bike shop in Atherton were really helpful.
