Hawkeye and other trail care guys

As you have seen for yourself the singletrack that is there and being added to just off monavale rd is fantastic.

Some easier areas for the kids, plus some more technical stuff for those who are interested.

Given its location, proximity to st ives showground, and in basically a piece of land that was otherwise dissused, but a great terrain for building sniggle, this offers a prime area to continue to develop a nice little trail network.

How is this land managed ? Is there anything stopping further development of these trails ? i think a couple
Of working bees and some guidance of some trail builders a nice 5 - 8 km loop could be made in there.

Thoughts ?

I can't answer your question Dicko, but I will put my hand up to help out with any trail-building work that may be required.

... on who the land manager is.

The stuff that runs parallel to MV road is mostly Crown land so far as I've been told but I'm not sure where the boundary with NP managed land lies.

Now while NPWS seems less aggressive about enforcement *at the moment* that is not a green light to go a-building, and pushing the boundaries (pardon the pun) WILL backfire on us.

To reinforce the seriousness, the fines are big... at least 3 zeroes on the end.

So until we're able to get together and put a management boundaries overlay over the trail plots I'm unable to tell you with any accuracy and I'd recommend exercising restraint.

Especially now with muppets it's a great trail as is... And it's natural rather than man made (al la OMV) which I think is preferable. Can always link Bunnings and the sniggle parallel to Heath if there's a need for more.
