Cleared to Ride!

Just got back from a consult. Mr surgeon seems quiet proud of his work. Says I need to massage the scar to soften it up (any takers?). Most importantly says I can go riding again! Smiling

In fact, he says masses of MTB riding will help[1]!

Excellent! Laughing out loud

[1] OK, that last part is a lie. Eye-wink

fairly happy to get that news Rob, have you been out for a quick spin yet? I'd love to come out on a mtb ride but I've ground both mtbs to a paste and am waiting for parts, so it's the other bike for me at the mo, Shaun if you need a big road fix I'm doing 200km on Sat or Sunday let me know if your keen, the gong 'n' back is good.
John.

Yes indeed! I was so keen for Sunday, but with a GF with jet lag and lunch appointment that wasn't going to happen.

Lucky there are two (as of now) evening rides this week so will hit Cascades on Thursday as don't think I'd get to Berowra in time.

So some brutal training in the hills for the first ride in 6 weeks - guess we'll see if a wind trainer is worth it's salt!

That 'bike ground to paste' quote is spot on for wet sandy conditions. I should have been using the time off to give the Rush some TLC, huh? Not that it needed much but I fixed a growing chip in the lacquer. Need to get some rings ordered pretty soon for a drive train switch that'll be coming.

I did a lot on the exercise bike with my broken hand and did better than normal at my first club race after the injury despite being paranoid I was going to fall on it.

just been canned, I've trained almost everyday since boxing day for the NZO 24hr with the hope of riding the whole race, other than some 5-10 min stops, however plan B swings into place with the Australian championships solo only race on the 22nd of March (easter) in Canberra I've lost 2 weeks training but she'll be right.

Hey John,

Already got riding plans this weekend (short local on Saturday & long up the Pacific highway on Sunday) but could be keen for something next weekend though?

Trying to convince Rob to take his Bianchi out on the tar, but he's proving to be a bit of a stick in the mud! Eye-wink

I was dead keen to do the gong 'n' back, but with the Nzo 24hr being cancelled I'm now doing the 24hr solo champs in Canberra and it's on the 22nd of March so the 8/9 is getting too close for a long ride chasing a greyhound, but we could fit one in before the DW100 hopefully.
Cheers John.
