The TATHRA MTB ENDURO has been POSTPONED.

The event will now be staged on JUNE 7/8 2014.
Event organiser Andrew Johnson said rider safety and potential environmental issues were behind the decision.
“We have been monitoring the tracks and with the wet and soft soil, trees have been constantly falling,” said Johnson. “With gale force winds and more rain predicted, this is a major safety issue.”
He said the tracks have held up until this morning, but with 250ml of rain in the past month the ground can no longer handle any more water
“To race would be irresponsible, as it would not only jeopardise rider safety, but also destroy our tracks.
“This has been an exceedingly painful decision given the thousands of volunteer hours that have gone into the event. However we want our event to be fun and safe.
“We apologise to people who have travelled to the area for the weekend, but we found it necessary to make an early decision to minimise inconvenience,” Johnson added.
Tathra MTB tracks are now CLOSED.
Any riders heading to Tathra this weekend should throw in a surfboard, as the surf conditions are predicted to be good.
Riders who have entered will need to select one of the following options:

a) Transfer your entry to the June 7/8, 2014 Tathra MTB Enduro

b) Receive a refund of 70 per cent of your entry fee. (The rest covers us for expenses incurred with the 2014 event)

c) Donate your entry fee to the cause – This year funds from the event will go towards the Tathra IMAGINE solar

We will be in contact with entrants via email to verify their choice.

These decisions, however painful and disruptive, they are always done with the best intent for all riders and riding environment, we ride because we get to let off steam and enjoy the serenity of nature, understandably miffed to change plans but then if the natural world was predictable there would be no joy in riding mtbs.

adequate notification goes out all is good. This time it did and I did not rock up to a cancelled event - awesome!

All very well managed, new date set and communicated. The local caravan parks could easily change bookings. Looking fwd to June and hit these tracks.
