I can't see that this has been posted yet, but I just found this on Council website. $110000 to be spent on track work commencing May June!

That's good money! Well done to every person who helped make this happen!

Im surprised and a little disappointed that there don't appear to be any significant changes planned.

New sections or improvements to appeal to a wider range of riders might at least reduce the number of riders creating additional illegal single track.

Was there any consultation with the wider riding community to seek their input?

... but that is just this financial year. Will be spent this year.

There is more to come.

As to consultation, there was a huge piece of work associated with renewal of the POM which involved extensive consultation with all stakeholders including us. And we will be further involved once the POM escapes the clutches of State level red tape.

Watch this space.

Here's hoping there are funds and plans to work on the Allambie downhill section. It really is in a bad state. I know it's never going to happen, but how good would some berms be for the turns there. #dreamin

I just hope it doesn't end up overly groomed. I much prefer the rough and ready trails of MD to the man made features of OMV.

But good to see the council spending money on MTB infratructure!

Some degree of grooming is inescapable as the trails need to be made sustainable.

I don't know how many of you watched Mick Hannahs walk thru of the DH course in Cairns over the weekend WC round, but that was exactly his comment regarding the bermed section straight after the start gate - vital for managing water flow to make the trail sustainable. And he was right. It held up the best in the wet.

Pancakes... don't give up the dream Smiling

I couldn't see a reference to additional budget in the next FY.

Looking forward to seeing something interesting that caters to a wider skills range.
