Hi all,

My ridding buddy has escaped to Melbourne. I am looking for riding buddy(s) to take on Anderson and the Oaks on a morning ride. Having ridden Ando and Oaks on my own, I realise that it’s not much fun and 4 hours is a long time to be riding on your own!

I have average fitness, (Ando still has me doing some walking take a quick break at the gate of the Oaks to fill up water and off I go again. If you’re up for a social ride and want some company please let me know!

I realise that the Oaks is still under construction but I am happy taking the detour!

The more the merrier, all welcome.

I'm thinking of joining you for this ride. Is that 6:30am meet at woodford for the next train? If I was to join you I would be travelling via train from Glenbrook.

Ill be at Glenbrook station at 6.30 am for the next train up the mountains. Alight at Wentworth Falls to ride Anderson, or try to ride that massive climb out! Then tackle the Oaks. As I said I'm not the fittest guy in world but it usually takes me 4 hours to complete both tracks.

I'm in the same category, I've always walked up most of the climbs from the creek.

I have other possible plans for sunday non cycling related so I will let you know Saturday night if I'm in or out.

Yep - the wind is howling up here tonight, take it easy and watch out for fallen/falling trees and branches.

Wasn’t much fun at all. I got to the end of Ando and hopped straight onto the train to Glenbrook (I chickened out of the Oaks, was feeling too cold and miserable by then). The climb out of Ando seemed to take for ever with that wind.

That's strange - what time train did you get on?
I got on at Springwood at 7:10am, getting to Wenty around 7:40 and there were no other riders around.
I rode Ando's, Oaks and then through Long Angle back home to Winmalee and only saw a few groups along the Oaks.
I did finish Ando's in about 1.5hrs from the station so I may have been ahead of you from the start.
p.s. the wind wasn't that bad Smiling think of it as extra training.....
