Tiler Licence Number Check, Online?

Need some help with selecting the right tradie for a job. Is it possible to check online where you can see if a tiler is licensed and currently valid? Is a licence even required in this case?

Make sure you also check the tradie's insurance (check with Fair Trading, but I believe current insurance is required for them to be licensed) as an uninsured tradie can cost you your house and more if he injures himself or someone else while on the job.
I have a good sparky, painter, lawn guy and hedge trimmer but no tiler. Sorry.
