Trail recommendations please - for Newcastle (Glenrock or Jesmond)
I'm up in Newcastle soon with an hour or two to kill after after a meeting close to the City.
I was planning on taking the Dually XC but may take the AM bike.
Would you recommend Glenrock or Jesmond/John Hunter?

Glenrock is far better than Jesmond. You will have fun in glenrock with either bike.
Haven't ridden Jesmond, but Glenrock ... well... rocks
Some gnarly drops there on the black runs ... I chose the chicken line.
Glenrock is way better. Heaps more singletrack and well signposted
I prefer the style of trail at Jesmond but there isn't really enough trail to have a decent arvo or morning ride without hitting at least one a few times. Nice single track and some fun fairly mild rutted downs with some tree roots to have some fun on.
Glenrock for sure but with more time I would recommend some up at Medowie
I love jesmond, but you have to know your way around, whereas in glenrock you can study a map, and there are enough strava segments to follow where all the trails are , so it's it really possible to get lost.
What's up Medowie way? Single or fire trail. Where is the trail head.Olds live at Nelson. Didn't think there was any decent trails up that way
Medowie is an 8km loop of 100% single track. Definitly the best in the bay
It is very flat but tight so you are constantly on the pedal. Lots of man made obsticales and berms to keep you busy. Well worth the look. Its a shame I waited 12months to get up there as I thought it would be a goat track. I was wrong!

Medowie is so fun I think it will be my new single track to have fun on it is easy too find go past the macadamia farm to the roundabout towards town turn right then all the way too the end where the rd bends and turn left the entance is on Coachwood drive between 2 houses just before the only St on the right .
