Bantry bay new trails timeline
Anybody know when these trails will be finished/open? From what I can see the western trails will be completed first then the eastern ones closest to wakehurst parkway. But what's the timeline?

Have a meeting with NPWS on August 13.
Will report back then. It may take longer to officially open than common sense would indicate as there is a massive amount of documentation of the trail to be completed for condition monitoring and flora/ fauna monitoring.
Need to remember these trails were sold as a pilot study to be researched so we get get it approved.
It's also good the walking tracks are being upgraded too. People are already commenting on how high impact walking track construction is when completed to Australian Standards compared with mountain bike trails! And why can't walking tracks be that low impact? Currently it may be a liability issue as walking tracks need to be to the Australian Standard...

I back onto the bushland where the trails are being built and there's been choppers flying material every Friday for months now. Couple of weeks ago the we're right up the northern end of the trail (western slope) but last week they weren't flying. So hopefully this is a sign that it's close.
The August meeting was cancelled so nothing official.
But from what I hear the western trail will be open October/November and the Wakehurst section later.
As I said before opening will be delayed a bit longer after trail completion than normal so detailed baseline studies can be completed as officially this track is s pilot study.
