Is anyone keen for Red Hill DH?
We did talk about it at the start of the year and never got round to it.

for sure man, is a bit chewed up, but still rideable last i checked..there is a jump dh track aswell that i havent done yet, but sounds definantly a bit of fun, time for me a bit tight at the moment personally, but post something up with a bit of notice should be sweet, poss a sat arvo would suit well?
a jump run sounds good. Im looking for some faster, more open and bigger jumpy sorta trails. I've ridden Ourimbah a lot being so close to home but thats more technical than quick open stuff.
Any other suggestions to fit the bill?
Im living down in Randwick now, I wonder whats around here?
yeh im on the quest for flow now, bit sick of techy trails want some super fast flowy whistler-esk trails might have to go to whistler!
The DH jump track is my regular ride it is in great shape it is fast and flow's with some good challenging gap's and jumps post up a ride and I will hit it up with you !

I'm in as long as it's not too bumpy.
Where is it at red hill? Is it still one of the right single track turn offs from the fireroad?
YES and No
By "the one that turns off the fire road" , I'm assuming you mean Grizzlies. This used to be the main dh at Red Hill, but has since come into a state of disrepair.
The "Jump DH" takes a little more effort to get to ( and find ). It's also a lot more technical than the majority of Grizzlies.
excellent, thanks for clearing that up.
hmm those gaps look rather large! yeh i dunno where the jump is dez'l have to play tour guide for this one..we did grizzlies a couple of months ago, was still rideable, just neglected, with some good bits in it..anyway, well have a looksy at both ay?
Alex fancy meeting you here! G'DAY MATE. I'm home sick due to spewing in all directions. Excellent.
Those gaps are piss weak, you can do those with your eyes closed. Just remember to take it easy.
Yep, the main red hill dh. So, where is this new one? Roughly, in relation to the main red hill dh? Is it near the dirt jumps? I might pop in and say a big hi to my mates there LOL
to sick to hit castle hill? lol oh yeh lets make some plans to get lots of strangers to come and have a look at the dirt jumps and have a play on them, anyone need directions?
Love to but in might be messy..
You're not going to invite your MX mates up there are you?? Oh no...
masquerading over on Farkin as "Digit" is it?
Not me. I don't even know what this Farkin mtb website forum is. Never heard of it, let alone posted under any Red Hill thread.
Who is Digit and what did Digit do?
Alex, are you Digit?
I meant "Digtrails"
no not me i masquerade as noone
Is that the same 'noone' who is masquerading as 62 year old Greenie 'Beryl Armstrong' from the Red Hill Preservation Society who wrote a carefully crafted letter to the local council about the staggering threat to the local fauna and flora from hooligans on push bikes digging up the landscape and not wearing adequate deoderant?
Didn't think so.
no but i did spray paint pink, re-angle and bulldoze the red hill jumps, and shoot local endangered wildlife if that counts? im having an endagered species omlette with a local rare flora dipping sauce for dinner that i got from red hill whilst bashing some elderly disabled people..
Beryl won't be happy to hear about this...
thats the thing about beryl, always cranky, never actually on the bicycle, just telling other people to stay away..not a fan of ol bez
The the good fella's that built and maintain this track would not be too happy about public attention to said trail so could we keep any detail description of how to get there to" 0 ". If a ride gets posted up for Red Hill and it ends up there great but as we seem to now be under the microscope for our destructive and anti social activity by the bush police lets keep it quiet . It is not Manly Dam .
Come on guys... riders who may have issues with the 'bush police' should remember the bigger picture and what some people are trying to do around here. In order to get council and the like to help we really should try not to alienate the community.
Although a lot of Red Hill is earmarked for future development, some of it is also earmarked for 'community' use. If you keep the locals happy and on side they will be less inclined to write submissions against MTB riding when whatever plans that come around are proposed. They will also be less inclined to complain about giving council land to riders for an MTB park, etc, etc.
So please just remember to play nice
sorry mate, actually being silly buggers about a thread started on farkin, where by a young fellow asked where the jumps were, and was essentially told to f off by some idiot who claimed to be the "owner" of the jumps, and discouraged the kid to the point of insulting him for no reason, then proceeded to threaten someone who defended him with a punch on invite! was a bit much, an a bit of an in-joke, no reference to "bush police" or anything, just some dirt jumpy elitist wanker giving the whole sport a bad name to new up and comers! you can still catch the thread i think under red hill in general discussion on farkin, the main nob being technoboy...
LOL. Unfortunately there is no Beryl. Nor are there any Bush Police that I am aware of. Nor is there a pack of MX riders heading up there. And I seriously doubt that Alex is eating endangered plants, bulldozing pink jumps and making omlettes with the elderly. Or maybe he is. HOWEVER, many young people DO have poor body odour and this is quite a problem on the trails.
The reality is this: these upstanding, community conscious young dirt jumping men have a deep love for the plants and for the environment of R#d H#ll, they engage in bush regeneration, strive to keep rubbish free (and they recycle too), they use only small digging implements that have no emissions, they engage in sustainable building practices, and perhaps most importantly, they make consensual love with the local wildlife.
No look, it's a fair point. Perhaps we can refer to 'red hill' in code, call it 'mount stromlo', just to throw people off? Actually, that's good, cause then no one would want to go there anyway.
So, I think I've narrowed it down, it is NOT the main dh, and it's NOT Manly Dam. Hmm..is it Mt Buller?
The plot thickens.
how about llihder pmuj
voldermort?
Very nice, why the hell didn't I think of those?
