Angry Doctor accomodation
So as the number of Nobmobbers attending the Angry Doctor grows, so too the number of accomodation requests. We will need to think about a motel / bungalow / camping alternative. Or maybe all of these, if we end up with huge numbers.
Does anyone have a wish to organise this? Group accomodation for about $100 a night (split up between attendees) is usually the preferred method, if you aren't camping. Does anyone know of good camping grounds or caravan parks? My preference is for a self contained hut/bungalow.
So, lets hear 'em...

We were here last year:

Did the job, wasn't that 'spensive from what I remember. Sep 6 is in their low season, pricing is here:

I'd vote the Gumnut cottages, so that's around 40 bucks a head for 3 people in each. Dibs on a double bed - I had to bunk with snoring Steve at two events last year... no offence, mate!
They are closed at the mo but will call tomorrow and make sure there's something available.
I've a leave pass for this one as fiancee and daughter will be in a different country
Happy to do some phoning around but no experience of the options, lemme know if you need a hand.
Ta,
Matt.
for a larger group, particularly those with families
http://www.south-coast-accommodation.com/
I'm keen to go the gumnut, looks ok.
Would prefer a good nights sleep if possible
worth checking out for the accommodation.
http://www.barlingsbeach.com/cabins.html
I have spoken to these guys and they have cabins available. They are also willing to wave the 2 night minimum as we're down for the race.
I also spoke to Barlings Beach but they are booked out aside from some smaller cabins that have 2 x double beds which I didn't really think was suitable.
So the prices on the Broulee site are for 2 adults only, so the Gumnut is $63 each for 2 people, $50 for 3 and $44 for 4 in a cabin. 4 adults per cabin is their limit.
Given we were there last year and it seemed OK (and that things will disappear rapidly that weekend) I've booked 3 Gumnut cabins at Broulee for 4 people in each. If someone sleeps on the lounge floor then that means only two have to share in a room of bunks.
I'm assuming the 'gang' here will be: Rob, Cupcake, Steve, Blondie, Pikey, Evan, Bocz (2 people), George, Ditty, Sammy, Caro.
Anyone not on that list please don't take offense - I didn't want to assume you would want to bunk with us. Plus, if your name wasn't on the Doctor meeting didn't know you were coming.
This place has 3 more Gumnuts and a variety of other cabins and even camping if you wish. It's not far (driving) from the RSL IIRC which is where we ate last year. Although of course there's kitchen thingos in these places and they have decks so I'm sure if the evening is nice we could have some fun there.
Apologies if I left you out - please forgive me... just chat amongst yourselves and book up something here or in the area and we'll see you there for the after
painparty! On behalf of the Bocz, thank you for booking a room for us
But if you do happen to be in Lozza's cabin then bring hearing protection. I did at the Dirtworks and it worked a treat.
...meetings??? what the?? seems I missed the boat on this one.
let me know soon so we can book it
Put me down but I do need to confirm tonight.
Thanks for organising Rob!
Can I please be in the cabin for 'non-snorers'?
Only 122 more sleeps!!!
Count me in also if you still have a spot.
Thanks,
Matt.
I cannot edit my original comment but I am confirmed. Is someone organising more accomodation?
Just stick up your hand whether you want accommodation (and whether there is more than you) and Rob/myself will sort it out...
Thank you. Just one for me please.
Cheers
Brian
Shaun,
i need a place and for Matt too, as he indicated in the above post.
Thanks.
You & Matt are noted.
Hi all,
For anyone that still wants to get accomodation, I would suggest this Broulee place. Seems as good as any, and we can keep the Mob together that way. Then we can also heckle the 100km riders with their condom suits. Looks like Greg has joined the bib and brace club. Oh dear.
(I think the 100km freaks will have to set up their wind trainer 300m up the road!)

Currently there are 2 venues booked (planning oversight), one near the beach & one at the start/finish area.
I'm assuming the two venues are sufficient for those listed? Let us know how much and where to transfer cash to, and what brand of booze you prefer .
Ta,
Matt.
keen on Gumnut or whatever - do we need to see to ourselves or is someone owning this?
....the best thing is Ar drinks water!
A very cheap thankyou.

Just got to this post many thanks boys, see you on a bike sometime soon.
Hmm, will have to start training for this one!!
Junkie, love how PC your list is! alphabetical order! haha
Cheers,
Loz
Is based in Moruya, about a 15 mins drive south of Mogo. Moruya is a decent sized town and the LBS Moruya Cycles are also a big part of the race I believe.
I'd offer you all a piece of floor at my parent's place a little further south but think that could be a bit much!
is there room for two more on your list?
Mark
At the moment, we have space for 21 ppl (with the current number of cabins booked - 3 gumnuts at Broulee; 1 Miner's Cabin at Mogo).

Ta,

sorry Shaun
I thought I reserved a place
But was thinking of the back of the car as well
Confused as usual
Can you fit one more in - if not, back of the wagon it is
21 bed spaces is all that's available and have been allocated. I'll add you to the (growing) waiting list...
What are most of the ones doing the 100K doing on Sunday night ? I can't imagine many driving back up for 5-6 hours after a big ride...!
I suppose everyone will look for a place themselves when they start to fall asleep ?
Tom
The race starts 7am, most will be finished by 2-3pm, 4-5 hour drive home means worst case you'll be tucked up in your own bed by 8pm.
The lucky ones get to snooze in the car on the way home.
I'll probably be carpooling with 2 others. So will probably be 1hr shifts to keep it nice and short.
Maybe we need some of those drugs the truckies get
Have you ever tried driving when you're tired AND everyone else in the car is asleep!??
impossible!
not only rotations but a minimum of 1 other awake is in order I reckon!
