yup another for the movement
.. and yeh that is a top idea christine, how bout it rob?
Hmmmm... we tried that a while back and not sure it really worked. For an effective campaign it's much more useful to encourage people to send individual letters than to send in one petition.
That's what the Action I've Taken forum is meant to be all about. Post letters you have written and campaigns you've joined to encourage others.
FWIW I spoke to NPWS again on Tuesday and am waiting for a list of ministers from them. Ministers who are supposed to control NPWS policy, etc. We made our best guesses here but to get it confirmed straight from the horses mouth will be good.
It is aimed at Kuringai Council not NPWS.
These people have elected to try something. Yah petitions are week but at least they have some kind of tangible objective in mind. Looks like they have assembled 80 people so far with email addys.
This made the North Shore Times:

And would you beleive has now got a mention in SingleTracks blog:
http://www.singletracks.com/blog/?p=966
are the
"At the moment, North Shore mountain bikers have to drive to Terrey Hills or Oxford Falls to access safe and legal jumps,"
I guess Terry Hills is the BMX track but there are no legal jumps in OF. There are legal dirt jumps at Castle Cove.
Are these the jumps that are in the middle of a construction site? the fence went up about two weeks ago, they are on eastern valley way.
ones are at Holly St near large oval, but there was a bad accident there not long ago, & i think it got closed.
The other ones were between Castlecrag & Northbridge on Eastern Valley Way, which is now in a cage(fenced off) & the land is up for sale.
Hi Guys,
I live near Holly St oval in Castle Cove.
The jumps are still there and looking good. (As of last week)
They are open access, have a council sign defining them as a jump facility, and are pretty well maintained by the local kids.
They suffer a bit in the wet - puddles in the dips, but the guys put carpet on the faces to keep the shape.
Some of the jumps are pretty radical, not for beginners.
There's also a 'wall' been set up with good approach for stunts.
