Hello people,

I have read that the Oaks trail has had major maintainence works in the past month. Has any one ridden it in recent weeks? What condition is it in and how rideable is it? If anyone has any pics that would be great!

Hi Tommo,

I rode The Oaks on Saturday morning. I haven't ridden it in a long time, but the condition was good. No issues at all, although the causeway was pretty deep at the end of the ride from all the rain. No pics, sorry...

Oooh... that's interesting. Above the helipad are there still a few rough and ready areas of rock (this is a good thing IMHO)?

Just I'd heard that a lot of it has been graded and it's now super smooth and very wide in parts.

I rode toward Glenbrook. From memory, the section leading up to the helipad was still OK. The steepish down hill section still had plenty of loose stuff. The only section I suspect they had been doing work recently was around a few of the big corners on the longest of the up hill sections on the early trail about 1/2 - 3/4 of the way to the helipad (I had my head down at this stage trying to keep up with my mate). Still a nice morning out.

Went from Glenbook to Woodford and back on Sunday morning, which was a tad wet.... There has been a lot of vegetation clearance along the first third of the fire trail from Woodford which makes it look quite different, but most, if not all, of the actual track seemed the same as it was three months ago when i last rode it. The rougher sections are certainly the same as ever.

But, importantly, the singletrack down the bottom is great!!
