Oaks Trail Update

Someone sent me this today, thought you'd be interested:

...I did the Woodford to Glenbrook Wednesday this week and let me just say that "track maintenance" is a very loose term, hehe. The actual track hasn't really had any work done on it so it is rougher than ever. All they seem to have done is run a bulldozer over the first 1/3 of the track and it seems much sandier than it was before (luckily it was quite wet when I did it do it was pretty solid but when its dry I think it will be quite nasty) and cleared 1 to 2 metres each side of the track (I assume so that it is more of a firebreak). So the big hills that were really rough before are just as rough (maybe even rougher due to wet weather and constant riding). I would recommend riding the dual suspension bike and be ready for a rough ride, just as fun as always! I got quite wet and muddy, especially on the single track at the end. Good ride though!

Must have deteriorated pretty severely in the last 2 weeks then,I did it earlier this month and the firetrail had been basically steam rollered pretty much the whole way,so much so that I've crossed it off my list of rides (unless tagged onto Andersons). Its also been widened quite significantly in the first 5kms or so making it a pretty boring/featureless ride. I'm assuming its been flattened so that the OAKS Classic is safer?
