(not to mention the horses)crapping everywhere that is the biggest contributor to GW. Do away with the lot, then we'll have less "Irish landmines" to contend with as well.

you know ive only been round manly dam a few times been a rookie and all but the one thing that really got me was these dog owners that give you filthy looks cause you are on a bike and look at you like your the crim and fido is of his lead whats with that???,ps that same ride i saw a bag of dog doo sitting on top of the bike trail sign as if it was their silent smelly polluting form of protest against bike riders.where is the love ???rainbows and moonbeams anyone???
-See Dog Walker -Stop riding
-Wait for Dog Walker to call us through
-Get off and walk past, or ride past slowly (up to the Dog Walker)
-Tip your helmet and say good morning to the Dog Walker, and offer the dog a tasty sausage that you packed earlier for just such an occasion.
-Continue on leaving a happy walker and Dog
We are not seriously going to start this thread are we.....

next question is...do you have to buy tickets and things in advance or do people just turn up? surely there must be a website on all this so i don't keep asking silly questions...

I'll continue the rant...
I always ride with my dog. I rarely ride at Manly Dam and I spend most time at Menai and I never get any negative responses from anyone. Fellow riders like to stop and pat her. She's part labrador and part hippo and she can sometimes be gone for a while once she enters one of those massive puddles.
However I do find it very strange to see people walking a dog and leaving their bike at home. At Manly Dam. Where is the logic in that?
seems the 4x is on sat eve, and the dh finals on the sunday thats my pick if i manage to get down there, with a possible bash at majura somewhere in there!

-See Dog Walker -Stop riding
-Wait for Dog Walker to call us through
-Get off and walk past, or ride past slowly (up to the Dog Walker)only to have the unleashed dog suddenly dart in front of your front wheel, causing you to crash and at the very least brake the dog's leg in the process
-Tip your helmet and say good morning to the Dog Walker, and offer the dog a tasty sausage that you packed earlier for just such an occasion.
- Get abuse from the Dog Walker, even though you're on the only legal mtb track around, and they chose to ignore the signs that say "dogs must be on a leash"
-Continue on leaving a happy walker and Dog
- Repeat process at next Dog Walker
- Finish lap of Dam in 7 hours

my god! you lot are sounding like you have the biggest chips on your shoulders about anyone and everyone using the bush except other mountain bike riders!
so far you have had a go at horse riders, trail bikes, walkers and now dog walkers... what is left?

a few of those coffee trucks every now and then ,hang on, yeah that sounds a bit like riding thru the getto at dy beach,i wonder how long it will be before you see one at the hydro car park????
Hey this is great.
Mabe we can ditch the knobbly tyres and get some skinny slicks. It will be heaps faster, might be fast enough that I will need some tight fitting gear.
I hate other people that lurk in the bushes, normally above a beach or swimming hole, one hand on a pair of binoculars and the other hand out of site.....oops, it sounds like I know too much about them
Seems that I can get the best responses
We have recently covered horses and trail closures something new is sure to pop up soon.
What about all those people walking around The Dam with their dogs off the lead running all over the place on the trail?
Global warming. There are definitely some non-believers around...

That and my hot air, my daughter's contributing a fair bit of methane lately too, just starting on solids and farts like Daddy

Bird watchers.
They shit me no end
forgot about them! yes, they lurk in the bushes...
Don't get me started on the Trees and Dirt.
If only the bush had a layer of tarmac over it, nice and smooth.

Aliens: I hate them too. Bloody crop circles, Whats with those things?
You don't see NPWS stopping that do you??
Imagine if the aliens started making single trails instead of useless crop circles....Hmmm now theres a thought!

I saw one the other night. It had flashing lights around its neck.
I am sure I saw the same one, thought they would be less hairy though.

When you said that you were researching the Great Tit, I assumed it was for ornithological purposes...
