NoBMoB Xmas Ride 2017
Park opposite/beside Terrey Hills shops, corner Booralie Rd/Yulong Ave. Or in the small carpark next to the RFS station & community centre.
Last years ride was another great outing with near perfect weather on a fairly dry and dusty Perimeter/Long trail. This year's edition offers more of the same and, falling on Xmas eve, hopefully everyone will bring their Xmas cheer.
There will be a 22 or 30km option on the day - the 22km is a popular choice and features some lovely riding along the Ku Ring Gai NP ridgeline along the Perimiter and Long trails, whilst the latter breaks off on the return leg and takes us through some of Terrey Hills steepest descents and ascents as well as the awesome Muppets trail. Note I'll probably keep to the 22km option this year so if someone wants to step up to lead the longer ride than that would be great.
Whichever option you chose I guarantee you'll have a great morning out on the bike with likeminded guys and girls. Please bring your own spares and nutrition including enough water for the trip - there are taps at the starting point if required.
Tinsel and santa hats optional, but definitely encouraged! Red mankinis not so much...
Were you there and have a story to tell?

Hopefully his wife lets me.... Lol...
That it will be dry and probably quite warm.
@giantnut - do you still have that red mankini? I think I leant mine to @pancakes??
Lol
Or perhaps they've ended up with those old fellas - @oldandslow and @spokeydokey...
I’m sorry. On behalf of Oldandslow, I must apologise that we’ve both changed. Neither are mountain bikers any longer. We both get around the Dam still, but Oldandslow does so on an eBike. He goes fast. Real fast.
As for me, I’m now a trail runner. I love it. I talk about mechanicals, 26 v 27.5 v 29. For me, it’s a 8 1/2 size pair of sweatshop-made Nikes and away I go. There’s even a web forum called NobTrailers. You guys should check it out. SLICK...

I swear I just read the same sentence 3 times....
That settles it - I'm obviously in need of an e bike...
Older faster harder!
... and can probably do the longer ride if there is a quorum. Though I hate that climb out of Keiran's Creek and may go round to Muppets the longer way!
Black Flash, I assumed you'd wash the mankini before loaning it out. :0
I sent it off to China to have it replicated in carbon. Rocking a prototype as I type.
Work commitments marketing the carbonkini prevent me attending, unfortunately.
Ive been in Adelaide for the last 6 years but back in Syd for Christmas, and looking forward to getting back on the familiar trails with the gang. See you on Sunday!
Steven
Good to have you back!
Make sure u fill your bottles!
Sorry I have to miss tomorrow guys. I have a chest infection. Enjoy the ride and a Merry Christmas to all!
... and there's now a photo in the gallery to prove it happened. Merry Christmas to all.
Another year another scorcher! Good ride this morning with some ST thrown in as well (thx Lach!).
Stay safe and see you next year!
That was fun. Good to see Whisperer again - it's been much too long mate.
A few familiar and and a few new faces. Thanks for making a great morning.
I didn't end up catching up with Hans on the way home but expect to do something in the Christmas NY break.
Thanks for the ride guys.
Merry Christmas!
