skinnies, ramps, junps and banked corners
Hey guys
I've recently returned to australia after living in canada for a while where i got into xc/downhill riding. I've only got a hard tail but i really got into riding this xc track in toronto that was full of skinnies, elevated ramps, jumps and banked corners. I've been looking over the trails that are posted online and all i've been able to find is wide trails that basically look like a fire trails. Are there any trails which have the above mentioned? Is this called single track? I'm looking more for a narrow, medium steepness with some fun stuff like jumps and skinnies, ramps over logs etc. Or does sydney not have any of this stuff? I live in the cross but i'm assuming i'll travel out to where ever i have to go.
thanks guys, i know you probably get these questions a lot

Elevated trails with skinnies are generally referred to as NS (North Sore)
Not much legal in Aus as yet. So you are unlikely to get too many directions over the net
It developed in Canada where they had an abundance of "blow down" fallen trees and boggy ground to traverse so elevated trails made from the fallen trees was a good solution. Australia hasn't got many places where this is relevant other than it can be fun.
Unfortunately a lot of the would be copy cat builders here don't take the time and effort to do make the things properly...
All that said where are you located?
The Lidsdale xc loop near Lithgow has a few small obstacles such as this

There is some at Ourimbah. It isn't marked on the nobmob map, but if you follow the 4wd tracks near the start of the downhill track, you will find it.
There is a little bit of North Shore, berms, ramps, jumps plus some skinnies around the area and these can be found at the locations listed in the "Rides" section of this site. It may not be in the quantities that you're used to but they are around.
You will probably find that many people don't broadcast these locations on the internet due to them becoming overrun with muppetts (idiots - not the little furry colourful things, although you do occasionally get those as well).
There was a fair bit of woodwork at Oxford Falls however the locals apparently removed it probably based (at least in part) on the fact that some of those who chose to ride the area were inconsiderate of the local residents (shouting, playing loud music, infringing on people's property - all of which I might add I recently witnessed at the Lady Penryhn Drive entrance to Red Hill).
Best way to find details of new tracks is to join the organised groups on this site and/or just speak with riders out on the track.
there is tonnes
bush is literally full of wood
just get into the bush and explore
