Scenic road for a roadie photoshoot?

G'day guys,
I'm planning on doin g a photoshoot with a roadie. I want to take a shot of them riding on a scenic road somewhere on the northern beaches. Obviously, if we were to go closer to the city we could shoot on some fabulous roads near Bare Island, but I would prefer to do this locally.

Something quiet with the view of the ocean, which actually looks like a country road (as opposed to a residential street) would be superb.

Do you guys have any ideas for a suitable location on the Northern Beaches?

Cheers

Surely you must have something suitable along that streach? The hill climbing out of Newport would give enough elevation to get the sea in the shot.

Hi ya,

The road out to West Head would be very good. Also back around Akuna Bay. Picturesque and parts along the water.

West Head is definitely your best bet, with views down towards Bobbin Head with no sign of human life. Suggest early morning or late afternoon for the best light.

Thanks guys! I never knew you could see anything but trees from West Head Road, but then again, I do drive down there quite fast.

I have, however, seen the lookout - it really does look fantastic! (but unfortuantely, not being on the road, it doesn't fulfill rerequirements.)
I'll have a SLOW drive through there tomorrow and see what I can find!

I'm not actually from the Northern Beaches, which is why I'm not too familiar with the roads around the Newport area, but thanks for the advice, I'll explore those too. I've driven to Palm Beach before (two days ago, in fact!), but again, I wasn't really looking at the views until I got there Sad

These are some photos I took from West Head lookout a while back:

The lighthouse looked pretty cool, which is why I went to palm beach:

McCarrs Creek Road is a nice piece of tarmac. As a backdrop it's go a bit of everything, including a small waterfall halfway up.
