Outcome...
Hiya All,
Thanks for all the support and help from the guys on the ride. Sorry to cut everyones ride short.
Sorry there are no before shots. But here are a couple of after shots.
Total of 10 stitches. Apparently it is a T style cut but more looked like a figure 8 when I got to the doctors. It took the doctor about 30mins to do the repair work.
The T cut:
Lessons learned:
1. Knee and shin pads are great to own, even better when you own some to wear them at places like Red Hill.
2. No matter how many times you have done a particular roll down, still respect it.
3. No matter what you say to yourself about taking it easy, you never do at Red Hill.
4. Always carry a first aid kit.
MTBers are always willing to help out others and I think this is awesome.
Catch you on the trails.

get well soon mate. that wouldn't have happened on a road bike!
Where in red hill did you do that?
400m down from the exit of the Rim Ride, in the Drop Zone.
Yes, Evan did get lots of sympathy over that! All the calls of "suck it up princess" were always good for a laugh! Get well soon Evan! Glad to hear that it will heal nicely. I think your points are all well argued and everyone should bear them in mind. When you don't provide a technical trail enough respect you can get bitten, big time. Now, no more injuries!!
And don't listen to Gazza. He wears so much lycra these days he no longer possesses the power of rational thought. Actually, maybe Gazza can recount the sheep story for us to clear up how safe road riding is.
