When:
Sunday, 28 September, 2008 - 08:59
Duration:
4 hours
Come Rain or Shine:
I'll be there, no matter what the weather.
Meeting Point:

Hazelbrook train station carpark on Railway parade, near Higgs place.

Railway parade Hazelbrook
Details:

This is planned to be fairly constant single track riding to practice your skills, improve your fitness and have a bunch of fun before the 24 hour and the Fling, both of these races have heaps of great single track so you owe it to yourself to get out there. The pace is planned to be medium to quick and as always we'll will wait at the next corner or top of hill to regroup. If you are unfit this ride is unsuitable. We will be doing mostly single track but throwing a bit of technical climbing and descent.

Who's in?

Hey John - how many kays are you planning to cover? 4 hours seems a long time, so will there be laps of the same stuff?

Carlgroover's picture

But not much will be repeated, some single track in the opposite direction and mine and Gazza's favorite bit twice.
Kays? I don't know but it's single track and feels more than it is.

John, 4hr of sniggle sounds just great and what I need, but I'm going to support Manly on Saturday night, so driving early the following morning may not be prudent.

Go the EAGLES

For those that feel a shorter ride preferable, it is easy to to cut this ride short as we won't be too far from the cars at any stage.

I can be prompted to do this most weekends, but I'll post a more relaxed ride after the Scott, perhaps the next overnighter?

Hey John

If it wasn't for this bloody rib I would be there with you... I love those tracks. Have fun.

Sounds good to me john. Really enjoyed the last one. Had my first long ride on the oppy today(185kms) if it wasn't for my shoulders being a bit stiff I could have just kept on going! Bloody love it!

Keep that up you'll be ready for solo 24 champs at Easter, Alex and I tested out the Megalong Valley ride a couple of days ago, it should be renamed the Megalong hill ride it's real good training. We did it from Woodford but originally a few us were going to do it from Glenbrook that will be a beauty when we get to it.

Yes, please. The last one was so much fun! And I promise, I'll bring a smaller tent this time...

on the first one and I've wondered if the 2nd overnighter should be the same rides and at the same camping spot or be changed to new ones. It was enjoyed by everyone (I think) so maybe once more would be good?

I couldn't make the last one and would be real keen to join the next one - also getting warmer (down here anyway)

Fantastic ride what a great flowing singletrack with just the right mix of technical challenges I could ride there all day.

We covered a lot of ground in the 3 1/2 hours there, with our group of 8 riders pushing hard and grinning harder on the trails. Actual distance was about 24km but felt like 50km we only had 1 flat and no accidents, thanks guys for a top day.
