Details:

Seeing as there seem to be a few new bikes out there at the moment I thought what better way to bed in the new beasties than with a saunter along some familiar trails. I'm gunna do Duckholes/Centre/Perimeter/Long, followed by a skinny flat white & some sort of sugar coated pastried fruit pie.

Everyone welcome. Pace will be social, the ride is approx 40k's and you can dump or join at the half way point (ie the shops again).

If you're thinking of joining halfway, I should be back at the shops around 10.45-11 depending on whether or not I'm alone, but take my phone # because if I'm late it will mean something's broken on my new ride.

Please don't just have jinxed myself. Please don't just have jinxed myself. Please don't just have jinxed myself. Please don't just have jinxed myself. Please don't just have jinxed myself. Please don't just have jinxed myself. Please don't just have jinxed myself.

I'll come to to see your new steed ...as my bike ...is now a (1 year) old bike ;-(

I'll try to join you half way for the TH run...that is if I can get the right seat clamp center bolt for my busted Joplin seatpost. The hex bolt spontaneously self-destructed the other day while parked (!) in the garage...sounded like a gunshot. I had just adjusted the saddle angle the day before...and I had a feeling that the 15 Nm torque (as specc'ed by Crank Brothers) was a bit steep for a hollow M4 thread...but if less the saddle rail slips...

Damn...that's what I'd bought the Torque wrench for!

Can anyone recommend a "bolt shop" that carries exotic bolts?

Thx, Hans

... I can, but my father's Alzheimer's is rubbing off on me. "It'll come to me in a moment..."

Ah, here it is! Smiling Bomond Trading in Brookie industrial area. If they can't help, go to the engineering section of Hardware and General and one of the Two Ronnies lookalikes in there should be able give you a contact.

Mr Stainless in Drumoyne may be able to help you.

Just the sort of ride I was considering attempting myself... I've had a dodgy knee lately - so there's a chance I'll quit before hitting long track... But we'll see! Also, good to hear you are back with a new bike Craig... And no jinxing Morgan!

Cheers,
Lance

Will check in tomorrow morning before I leave to see if there are any changes but Hans at this stage we'll see you at the shops around 10.45 - 11.00.

Can't help you with your bolt problem I'm afraid.

Night chaps...
