Fling Time
After a week in the kitchen discovering a new endurance super food I knew a good race was about to unfold
I had a good spot close to the start before the race so I wouldn't be held up in traffic too much, the start gun went and both Shaun & Whisperer rode away from me I couldn't seem to go fast at first must have needed to warm up.
Caught Whisperer at the first transition were we joined forces and rode together for a while then it was my turn to ride away. The half way hill was long and tiring had to get of and push to give the legs a rest.
At around 60km caught up to Shaun who was riding slowly as a tree had jumped out in front of him bloody trees ,feel sorry for him as he was in great form and had a excellent chance of smashing my time "thanks tree your on the payroll"
The long hills towards the end were very slow granny gear just spinning away ran out of water 10kms to go so was a bit worried about cramping but luckily didn't.Was very happy to see the finish line with a time around 5.47
Thanks everyone for a great weekend, bring on the 8.25 at ourimba

I almost choked with laughter at your first sentence Steve... after a week in the kitchen?...still giggling... mee
mind you for someone who can't cook you are a freak on the bike (meant in the nicest possible way)
Congrats Steve, brilliant time!
2 days to find the pot/pans and read the instruction manuals for the stove...
Home made rice cream I bet?
Nice time mate.
I didn't realise you made your own salt and vinegar chips
Well done
what happened Shaun? I thought these jumping trees were only seen at Ourimbah??
Are you ok?
Well done everybody, sound like you all the a great/hard time!
Paul thanks for the write up for the 110km, I think I'll leave it at 'reading' about it
What's this about the kitchen? Have the Steve's produced another replicant? One with culinary skills? Or have Birds Eye/McCain just launched a new range of carb-loaded treats?
Nice one though Steve, lucky break with your buddy the tree or that whipper snapper Junkie would have had you by the sounds of it!
It's the final result that matters...
The old man knows that he's going to have to upgrade his pacemaker for the next encounter though!
While we all tucked into burgers with the lot and pasta on Saturday night, Steve sat in his van preparing Sweet and Sour al la Steve.
The recipe in case you are interested is take one can of Creamy Rice and one large packet of Salt and Vinegar chips, eat seperately or scoop/dip if adventerous. Wash down with water.
Laugh we may, but look at the results!
... but don't forget who's in your team come the next encounter!
