2009 Australian Solo 24hr Nationals
Majura Pine Forest, off Majura Road.
Its now all go with the official web site now up check it out here http://solo24hour.com.au/ .
Ok the race is almost upon us and we have quite a bit of nobmob interest and it looks like we should have a large contingent competing and supporting so it should be an awesome weekend. If you are going to enter hopefully you have been training your arse off if not you have a little more time to get organised but definitely not too much so get on that bike and go riding and if you don’t feel like a ride its called training so get out there and do some.
It’s on at Easter again this year being the 10,11,12 & 13th of April for 2009 with the race being run on the Saturday & Sunday. I didn’t finish last years race but I still had a great time where else do you get to ride your bike non stop if you chose for 24hrs. So just how much do you love to ride this is your chance to really test your endurance.
I will be there going solo on the singlespeed this time and plan to ride the whole race non stop it will be great to have some other nobmob silly buggers there so are you up for it you know you want to.

V, you can borrow mine if you need
Jac connell won the Kona 24hr ....it is going to be HARD guys .....cheers for the bike offer (really cool picture btw) but I will borrow a Santa Cruz from CBD so hopefully it is all sorted
I just wanted to post a pic of my bike
Ooooo.. not long now.. getting excited and I'm not even riding.
i'm taking both but i.ll be riding the enduro. Big comfy machine in contrast to the epic which is fast, twitchy and uncomfortable.
I'm going to leave as early as I can on Friday Morning to get a decent spot for the mega tarp. The spot Damien suggested sounds good through the gate and on the left. I'll be doing the transitions down at the track probably. I hope to get there by 10:30 am
See you there John.
Two more sleeps...
Good luck and go well!!!
Nic
keep on pedalling, and remember stand up on the pedals now and again and give your butt a rest!
Good luck guys, excellent to have such an awsome turnout from the Mob.
A mate at the sydney 24hr gave me a great idea,
Get a thermos, and put some hot soup in it just prior to race start,
so when it comes to "dinner time"
it wont be scalding hot as you try to eat it and you don't have to wait for it to be mixed up.
anyway see you tomorrow,
Carlgroover i have your HEED gimme cash tomorrow.
Will do. Just gotta go and pack more beer now.
So your following his list then I guess.
but I didn't see any mention of broccoli and custard? Could this super food have been dropped by the Good Doctor?
Anybody have any other super food suggestions for a 24 solo?
Well I will be trialing a "soup" of sorts. Basically everything I can find that is not sweet will be going into the blender until it looks like baby food. warmed and given to V! I hope it goes down well....... Im sure it will be fine.
I reckon Pizza and beer are going to be great!
Support people better pack a rain jacket aswell.
We will see everyone down there tomorrow morning. Looking forward to it.
To both the racers and the support crews, I hope you all have fun and remain positive... Remember, it will pass!
I'm having warm custard and brocolli soup, mmmmmm
or discover anything missing once you have set up camp then let me know. I am planning on leaving home about 12 (in reality more like 1 but i am optimistic) Anyway, I can collect anything required on my way down...
I think you are all totally mad those who are riding but am looking forward to a fun weekend of George shouting at me and possibly me shouting at his receeding back as he pedals off...
Oh dear: http://www.bom.gov.au/products/IDN10035.shtml
It can't be as bad as the last one right?
at least this is in forest as opposed to an open fire road.
It "shouldnt" get too wet in there.
For anyone remotely intersted i will be twittering the race tomorrow. My "handle" is suprisingly @ladytoast.
Nerdy enough?
I noticed it was pouring at the Brumbies game this evening and the BOM radar is down.
Does anybody have an update on the weather for the 24 hour race.
I know Dylan is tweeting but I dont know how to tweet or twitter.
It's raining... keep an eye on Dylan's updates here:

It is cats and dogs down there. I'm following Dylan's twitter. But nobmobbers doing well. Current category positions have V I'm 2nd, John in 2nd, Gazza in 4th and critty on 6th. Hope I got that right, I have been drinking and watching the tahs lose....
What did you expect?
Well it sounds absolutely miz! The NoBMoB contingent is still going strong, only one man down so far...
Hopefully those support crews are nicely set up!
I was at Canberra stadium tonight, it was bucketing down non stop for over an hour...it has stopped now though. Was feeling sorry for the 24H guys!

So many blogs being updated out there, but this one is pretty good. V gets a mention, this is actually the point I managed to film.

Where is Gazza? I'm waiting to read his blog especially coming from someone who lives on beer
Tom
I got a mention in there too but he mispelt my name as masochist.
