Bike insurance
Does anyone have their bikes insured against damage while out riding? I believe most contents and portable insurance wont cover you if you are actually on the bike.

I have my bikes / home contents with Cyclecover. The bikes are insured for theft and damage etc from riding and for a few sheckles more I have them insured for the same at races.
The policy is pretty good, unfortunately I had to claim due to bike theft and there wasn't a problem.
Check out velosure as well. They are doing some big branding stuff at races and on farkin

Mine are insured withe cyclecover, but another option just launched is Velosure www.velosure.com.au who will just insure your bikes
I'm pretty sure mine is covered for damage as part of an add on to my home contents insurance. I'll check the fine print and let you know

Thanks guys, I'll check Velosure out as I already have the home contents side sorted.
I have both my bikes insured through my home contents insurance (Westpac Premium Cover) against theft and accidental damage anywhere in Australia. Home contents insurance won't cover you for races or charity rides, so you would have to get extra insurance for those events. There is also some cover that will insure you for up to 30 days outside Australia (anywhere in the world). I found insuring my bikes this way is more cost effective than insuring the bikes all year round through specific bike insurance, which can be quite expensive.
Cheers

I spoke to the guys at Velosure about... erm... insurance and explained their name came up online a lot.
The guy there gave me a referral code to spread about... if anyone does insure with them, if you quote this code it would be nice: 0992
This must be spam as its popping up all over the place
I reckon his account got hacked!
How could the sysadmin let that happen? Sack him!
