hahahaha
Bernd

lol
ok, ok,ok....
maybe I should go offline for a while...
Bernd
I'll sign up for this one. Oaks at night is very fun.
sounds like good fun, might be interesting with all the spiders!
Christine - I'll probably take the train up too. we can sort the deatils out closer to the time.
Lorrie
If I am Sydney I should be good for this.
I am a maybe but probably will make this at short notice.
My car isn't running and catching the train isn't for me so I have to pass on this one. Thanks.
Scott
I am 99 percent to make this ride and live in Fivedock you can get a lift with me if you like.
Did the Oaks up and back today its very smooth and fast now but still a good ride looking forward to Monday evening.
Thanks heaps for the offer mate. Is it ok if I let you know on Sunday?
Even Monday is fine.
... from the Forest area or thereabouts?
Call/SMS me (mobile number in my profile).
Cheers
Nic
Damien,
I'll let you know tomorrow about the lift.
Thanks
Scott
Christine, anyone?
We could take the train up, then ride down until we meet the main bunch, ride back up with them, then down again.
Train times today are as follows:
Depart Arrive
6:24pm 6:54pm
6:54pm 7:24pm
7:23pm 7:54pm
Cheers
Nic
ps does anyone have Christine's mobile number?
Damien,
Thanks for the offer of a lift, but I can't make this ride.
Have fun.
Anyone's thoughts on tonight's ride? A big hail storm is predicted. I'm coming from the Central Coast where it is getting wild at the moment and it would suck to get to Glenbrook and find no one there.
BWOAR!
The storms appear to be moving away from the mountains, so at this stage I'm still going - besides
I desperately need to stretch my legs.
I'll check again before I leave (about 4.15pm) and SMS if there is any change in plans
If Paul goes then I'll go...
I will be there, too.
seeya there,
Bernd
Never had a problem with rain up there even when pissing down in Sydney can still be clear up there cant wait.
The weathers looking good - all storms are up North and moving away.
I've only done the Oaks at night once and I can't wait to hit the sniggle at speed and under lights again.
It's the best fun you can have with cleats on and worth the drive.
"The weathers looking good - all storms are up North and moving away"
yes.... no... only one more hill, then its all down hill, yes.... no.....
I m not sure about you anymore.........
GREAT RIDE, Thanks everyone, loved it... still f&*^'D!!!
Bernd
So see you at 6.00am on Saturday to do it again hey Bernd.
Was a great ride even if it got a little damp on the single track it was quite funny being there that time of night and in those conditions.
... OK, so leading the way on the single track was like having buckets of water thrown over you (thank Paul for taking us most the way), but fun all the same.
Didn't seem as far to ride, at night - but maybe my brain was fried.
Thanks for the lift Paul
Nic
worrying that I would be way too slow and despite all those nasty posts I was mentally composing to put up about Paul and his 'wonderful idea' during the first endless 'hill' I had a fantastic time doing that ride thank you VERY much everyone!
Iit wasn't nearly as horrific as I had decided it was going to be - lucky I have a vivid imagination hey!!!
Anyway, loved the way back in the rain and fog and Bernd you did a brilliant job especially without your glasses!!!
And how good was it to see John and all his enthusiasm! Excellent!!
Thank you everyone and Happy New Year!
MEEEE
Thanks Guys - that was a good hit out 54k in 4.44 hrs (3.16 moving). It was my first time using the
32/18 SS ration on my 29er and was happy that I made the climb out at the end. I think I walked the 2 major pinches on the way up
and none on the way back - so I'm happy with that.
The Oaks is now just a dirt highway flat and hard packded with none of the ruts or sandstone ridges I fondly remember.
The sniggle at night is still fun but when the branches are sodden with water they droop to face height and every slap is
a drenching making a high speed run nearly impossible at night with branches covering the trail at eye height.

Everyone put in a good effort so hopefully next time we can do it in the dry.
Cheers to all for their patience. I rarely do over 30km in the saddle at a time so 54km at once and some in the dark and in the rain is a real challenge. Yet I really enjoyed being out there. All the best for 09...
"So see you at 6.00am on Saturday to do it again hey Bernd."
what a shame my wife has to work on Sat and I have 2 kids to look after!!!!
sorry Damien, next time....
