When:
Tuesday, 30 December, 2008 - 08:30
Duration:
6 hours
Come Rain or Shine:
If it's raining, I won't be there.
Meeting Point:

Ralston Ave / Elm Ave, Belrose, NSW, Australia

Ralston Ave / Elm Ave, Belrose, NSW, Australia
Details:

Training for the Sydney 24 so expect lots of pain and suffering on this ride. That said the route is a blinder.

Starting at the top of Heath Track, down the Technical Downhill all the way to Quarry climb (via the legal route of course). Across Ridge Top and over the road to the Show ground, then along to Sandy trail... from here over to Permiter Track and then use Centre Track and West Head track to get to Towlers Bay for that great downhill section, then all the way back either on the road or via different trails.

Should easily be able to get at least 60km's in I reckon.

This will be a nasty horrible ride suitable for only those with something to prove or lots of Chrimbo sugar to burn off.

Hi guys

I see chance of rain forecast for tomorrow morning. I'm up for riding anyway as it will clear later in the day.
If it's really hammering down at 8:30 we can put the start back an hour or so, in which case I will contact you by phone.
I will be riding to the start so won't have a car to sit it out in.

Junkie, there will be some road work too, you'll miss a great ride! Eye-wink

Cool bananas Greg, we could do with a trail guide around the Towlers track end..
still a bit unsure which is the best route - opps Smiling

Turns out the weather gods were with you guys!
Cool

What was your total mileage?

LadyToast's picture

Brilliant ride today (sorry to say but it was) Smiling

My total was just shy of 70km's but Scot takes the record with over 100 as he lives in town.
It was a hot day, and hard with there being so many man sized hills.
Highlight for me would have to be hammering down Towlers bay and then jumping off the peer.

Thanks to those that came, must to it again soon.

Thanks everyone. I had a great time and really enjoyed the ride.

Note to self: If Dylan posts an epic ride and whisperer and Scott (he does solo 24hr events) thinks it will be a fun day
STOP do not join this ride.....These guys are bloody fit and/or I have become over the last month an unfit mini sloth lugging an extra 4kg around.

Cascades (down Heath up Quarry), Showground, Perimeter Track, terry hills shops, Duck Holes, Salvation Track, Towlers Bay, Centre Track,
Terry Hills shops back to Showground back down quarry then up Heath.....Near death!!! (62 odd Km for me)

I hate you Dylan Eye-wink

See you on the next one,,,but fitter next time!

PS: Thanks guys for waiting for me every 100m's
