I am (freaking out)
not enjoying this thread..it's freaking me out as now I about to embark on a panic about not doing enough riding - I can't commute to work and have to fit in riding around my other sports... Stuart... can we do the 50 again? that was just FUN!! (just joking!!!!)

And here it starts with the 'jokes'?
Where were you last night - was a top training pace
i was resting my ankle so i can pretend to pull my weight in your 24hr team next weekend...the panic from THAT has now been overshadowed by training stress for the 100...
Someone please take a video of Christine when she comes back from the first lap of that 24hr race after she's had to walk up those impossibly tight corners and the loose steep firetrail
probably resemble the SHREW she is when she wakes up in the morning!!!
She doesn't know that she is doing the first lap yet
She needs to maintain...
Don't worry - I know a sure fire way to get at least two laps out of Blondie. For sure she is doing the first one. Lap one will be a traffic jam on the sniggle so you must sacrifice your slowest rider in that. This won't seem so bad to her so she'll want to do another to prove it is really rideable.
Yeah - then she might stop and cry a little and that will be that!
And the legs
And the feet
And the chest
And the back
And the arms
And the hands
And of course the pain is only temporary
It only lasts as long as you are doing it
And afterwards
And the next day
And the day after that
But after that you'll be fine
Gooooooo Blondieeeeee
is just weakness leaving the body.
I don't totally agree with that sentiment. I believe it is simply a emotion that can be controlled. It'll be interesting to see what my thoughts are at about the 78km mark at DW. I'm thinking this might be one very emotional old man
Let there be light
Look at it as character building but you are correct every one off those bastard climbs after the 78km mark will make it harder and harder to controll your emotions especially if roid girl has to wait for you.
for me or just a case of me giving my ears a break
Let there be light
You want emotion? Try seeing the top of Jacks Track around 6h20 (or whenever it was) and remembering the state you were in the same place the previous year (delirious and soon to be hospitalised!) and how you are going to annihilate that time and be able to go straight home.
Man - that felt good!
Christine, - take the 1st lap, everybody knows that it's going to be a slow lap because of the bottlenecks caused by slower riders, so they can't complain about your time.
As you are more than likely you come in behind a lot of riders, maybe this is a plan so your team members have the added fun of trying to overtake slower riders while still posting a good time.
I think tactically sending you out last will give the roids the best chance of posting good personal times and boasting rights, but then again they are probably not a competitive team.
If only I was still apart of Toasted I'd be asking Alex to do the first lap, I don't think he'll see a bottle neck at the single track when he gets there.
Does anyone know how far from the start will the single track begin?
I'd also like to know the course length so I can work out my 12 or feed bags.
Cheers
I think the course will be about 8.5Km, and the start will be flat for a Km or so then hit the climb so there's plenty of chance for fast guys to sprint clear to hit the sniggle first.
you could always sell your 100km ticket to someone who wouldn't moan as much whilst doing it! meeeeeee!
LOL... yeah - Gazza could wear a wig and slightly see-thru knicks and make Stuart ride with him!
wear slightly see through knicks! you know, the one's pikey has an unhealthy obsession of taking pics of me in!
