I am keen on having a girls group ride on the 29th of March
So far, there is 6 girls from the wannaride database interested.
I would like to have some Nobmob girls to join the ride 
Christine, Anke and co !! please come along !!
It will be a good opportunity to meet new girls and maybe to put a team together for the next 8hr WWS round ( entry is free for girls team!!!!!!!)

Hello to all the girls out there! Hope you have been well since doing the Wannaride race or skills clinic.
As part of Wannaride’s quest to get more girls out on their bikes, we wanted to help promote some all girl social rides. No guys, no fees, and no pressure to “race”. Just a bunch of girls out having a fun ride and hopefully meeting new riders and making some good connections for future rides. Vanina Vergoz is one of the team riders at City Bike Depot in the city. She came up with the idea to try to start up a girl’s social ride one day a month. It may start out small, but we are hoping that it turns into something bigger and better. Maybe one day a month now, and then who knows, a whole calendar of rides...
Here’s the info about the first of the social rides. Basically just a casual lap of Manly Dam on Sunday March 29th. If you are interested please contact Vanina. (see my profile for contact details)
She’s a really keen rider and has recently won a of couple of events, including taking out the Vet Women category at the Australian Nationals in Canberra. No pressure to go hard though on these rides, really. She just wants to get a crew of girls together on a semi regular basis and go ride some trails. Below is her email to me about the ride...I’m just passing the news along to our data base of keen girls. (or their boyfriends, dads, and husbands...please pass this info along if you fit this category)

The 29th of March CBD girls only social ride at Manly dam 2pm
- Start from Manly Hydraulics Laboratory 110b King Street Manly Vale
- What to bring: Helmet, water, muesli bars, pump, spare tubes (2)
- Level: It is a social ride so there will be stopping, chatting, and smiling!!!
- Goal of the ride: It is to have a bunch of girls of any age and any skill together to have fun and to have discussion about riding bikes and other Stuff J

As I am male and cannot come. But there is something I couldn't help but notice. The time for this ride is scheduled for 2am Sunday Morning. 0200 Is 2am in 24h time. I am fairly sure it is for 1400.
I guess I just wanted to stop confusion.

this coming weekend is the girls ride at Manly so cya there
sorry girls i'm out for today's ride. went for a ride yesterday and went over the handlebars - arm is little sore and leg is a bit bruised. i'm disappointed as i was looking forward to this ride, looks like i will have to catch the next ride - enjoy today.
It was a great day for the girl ride at manly and I had a really great time with all of you girls ! I was impress by everybody and c2g alias Ching Ching had two great otb !! and she picked herself up and carried on like a true champion ! well done on trying to ride the rock !

Menai is a good suggestion the problem is that I really don't know my way around there and I know it is easy to get lost ....

I wasnt really part of the ride was I... I was just riding the dam stretching the legs after the morning race and sessioning a couple of the more tricky spots along the way. I just kept bumping into the girls on the ride thats all.... (sort of anyway).
The stinky boys (and girls) ride will be this weekend at the mont wont it!

Thank you for a great afternoon and especially 'baby-sitting' me all the way. Menai, 26th April sounds good. What's the track like compare to Manly? I'm a little 'freaky' on rocks at the moment! Do you think we can also have a family ride (maybe in the future)?
i'm familar with Menai as well, so btwn Kiwigirl and I, we shld be able to get everyone back to their cars and no need for a rescue
alternative is Appin. I hope to be there on 26th April, just came back from the hospital and the current status is that i have a fracture in the elbow area so they have said at least 3 weeks no riding. this is not good news given Easter is next weekend and we were going camping down sth coast to ride Mogo, Tathra etc 
wowo Chica that is not good and it must be painful ! I hope you recover quickly so you can be with us at Menai and be our tour guide on the 26th

as I mentioned yesterday, unfortunately I will be away overseas so can't make the 26th April.
As an alternative for an easier ride, you could try Loftus (RNP) as well and not likely to get lost there! Anyway sounds like Chica knows her way round so you should be right.

as kiwigirl is away and Chica recovering we should think about another place to ride on the 26th any idea ??
This is just a suggestion, I don't have a clue what the track is like?
You could all enter the club race on the 26th and then get some pointers from V and practice a few sections after the race.
As c2g suggested yellowmudee would be another place to ride
(we will have lunch there so bring something to eat 
! )
As Damien said the WSMTB is having a club race on the same day same place so if you girls are keen you can give a shot at the race and then after the race we can go for a recovery ride
The race course is not long and you can do 1 2 3 4 or 5 laps depending on your category
you will need to pay for a day licence if you don't have one and small entry fee (I think it is $10)
let me know what do you think about that? if you are not interested in racing we can still go for a ride after the race finished
so you have two option Race/lunch/Ride or lunch/Ride
I will post the Race/Ride soonish!? is that ok:-)
Not sure I want to make my first ride there a race.

is a XC course Anke. It is not a place you have to be nervous about, you would enjoy riding confidelty and fast there!
Remember, I have the amazing ability to fall off going uphill and stabbing myself in the Sternum with my handlebar
V, sounds like we're going racing on 26th
Btw. Chris from Wannaride was very pleased to hear that we all had a fantastic time last weekend.
Well Anke I wouldnt be worried about been part of the race. The racing is all done by 12pm so if the girls ride is organised for 2pm it would give those that choose to race and ride a good window to eat and gossip as only girls do.
Also there tends to be local scouts there in the morning with a BBQ and drink.
It would be a good chance to have a look at what is a race course for those of you that might interested in doing a race at some stage.
The track there is in such great shape at the moment.
It is a much easier track to get around than Manly Dam as well.
but gets harder if you go really faast of course...
The course is easy enough you would have no problem unless you try to race V of course.
You would be fine in C grade just two laps for the girls and I bet you could probably do quite well and I think you would enjoy it.
V, let's post the ride including the race option. I'm sure it will be fun
Ladies, you can race and ride or ride or just race - whatever you feel like doing.

the yellowmundee track - its a nice flowing loop, not too many tricky obstacles and no intimidating rock drops like Manly Dam.
