Todd (Todd took Shawn’s place as Shawn was really sick), Gav, Alex and I had a great fun and some trouble as well during this 24hr
First the track was just great and perfect to work on your cornering…I realized how bad I was at cornering when on Friday afternoon we went to ride the course …I was behind the boys and then after a corner lost some ground on them so I needed to pedal harder to get back on their tail….If I didn’t pedal I would have lost them….

Saturday even if it was pouring rain, everybody had a good night sleep. After a great nutrition conversation, we decided to get ready for the start. Alex was first and had a fairly good start, well the start was not supa perfect as Alex expected us to be next to a red flag …but what we did not know is that there was two red flags so Alex was a bit confused so as us! well we lost some time and then the young yellow man was on his bike ! yeaaa first lap of the MONT for the team imported chaos.
Then it was Gav who did the second lap, he lost his chain at the start and then came back riding like he was strolling around and when Alex and I saw him we thought “ Man what did he do??!!” when Gav arrived his front wheel was bended big time !!! then Todd went for his first lap! We took Gav’s bike to the doctor and they fixed his wheel. Then it was my time to wait at the transition for Todd and we waited and waited and no Todd man…Where is he ?? and then we heard someone calling Gav !! it was Todd !!! who was waiting for us for at least 1-2 min !! hehe great stuff we actually did not see him walking at the transition point ..how bad is that ? pretty bad ..so off I went I decided to just use big ring for this lap, it worked ok but I didn’t think that made me any faster and I needed to save my legs for next weekend so no more big ring for me for my 4 other laps…

So we went through the night ( I had the longer rest than anybody else in the team lucky me ) Todd felt pretty bad then spew twice during one of his night lap and said that it was the hardest stuff he did for all his life, Gav hugged a tree and the light battery was not working, Alex was tired, my night lap was actually not too bad feeling wise and during the second night lap I rode with the Alchemist (Rob) and it was great, we talked about climbing and stuff. I was the lucky one who rode the "sun rise lap" I started in complete darkness ( we had trouble with the battery so we needed to change stuff ...) and finished in the bright morning !! was supa fun but the hardest was the in between dark/light I could not see really well...

The boys were feeling pretty tired Todd did another lap on the morning and then had a deserved rest, Alex went for another lap with the camera on his head when he came back he was white and looking supa tired so it was done for him no more lap. We talked for a wee while at the transition with Gav and Gais saying that I should take my time for this last lap as we thought we needed to be on the bike at the 24hr mark …a really slow girl passed in front of us and I said I am going to stay behind her …we talked a bit and then I left I did try to stay behind the girl and also did try to ride slow …but honestly it was harder to do that then to pedal at a good momentum pace ….so I went with a pace that suite me I felt good when I saw Gav and Shawn on the side of the track I had a smile on my face it is actually done but when I passed the transition I almost wanted to go for another lap hehe
So in conclusion it was great to do a social event where speed or ranking was not an issue ! Todd was just soooo organised, I learned a lot from him ! he's a great man ! Alex was soooo funny and fast he did the fastest lap in the team, Gav was great but tired as looked after me a lot. I think our team was supa fun and did pretty good!
