More tracks and some stats

In case anyone was wondering what all those tracks were I posted on the weekend it's just more of the same as before.

As we get more and more trails actually mapped properly we're in danger of having some useful information here Eye-wink For example, have created a page to list statistics on each area here:

http://nobmob.com/node/9127

Think it's also time to share a link to the auto-magically generated Master KML file, which can be found here:

http://nobmob.com/rides/kml

This shows the trails that are entered 'properly' on the site (so is a subset of the old version right now), but will work on that over the next few days. Will go update the maps page about this when am done too. Phew!

Enjoy! Smiling

Here's one not on the current list:

I recently found out about this area, out near the end of the M2, so I checked it out recently and was really surprised how good it was.

(The KML file can be downloaded from that link.)

It's a bunch of quality singletrack, good mix of flowing and some technical. The only downside is a couple of (easy) onroad stints to link things up.

The whole lot is legal - it's part of an offroad cycling link established by the area councils, and has signage explicit allowing MTB.

Another variation in this area is here:

I would describe it as a longer version of Manly dam, minus the crowds.

This is my back yard.Haven't riden behind Kings, will try though. You can also add Parra Lakes (fairly techo) + ride from Loyalty Rd to Exlisior reserve, return is about 22km .Lots of little techo along the way, creek crossings to keep u amused. Wheh i get time will try & post some pics.

I'd like to check this out, is the track sign posted so you can find your way around or is a map necessary?
Cheers John.

Ahhh... I've been talking to someone else about Parra lake. Allegedly that is not a legal riding venue, although we'd like to hear differently Sad

If you want to have a bash at writing up this area (or another) and posting some tracks then have a look at the Content Author's reference.

Carlgroover.

Regarding the map, print one from the two links and explore away. You may get lost but you're only a few mins away from civilisation.

Rob, regarding legality, can't speak for parra lake, as I haven't done that section, but everything else (in the first Everytrail link) is clearly signposted as bikes allowed.

You can enter Lake Parramatta from tallawood drive after crossing North rocks road after the climb up loyalty rd to avoid the road riding. From here you can go right down to the front gate of Lake Parramatta or through the back of kings and hit a trail that goes all the way through to Carlingford. I find that the Eastern side of lake parramatta is easier than the western side for those who don't like super tech riding

This is nice as it gives a view as to where we ride and what we do and in what size groups we usually do it.

I know many rides go on without even being posted in the calendar too - imagine how large these would be if all the rides were posted. Very useful for trail advocacy efforts Smiling

You never stop improving the facilities and functionality here. and it's still all robust.

I love stats, that is some amazing stuff, the large jump from 9 to 10 riders is noteworthy.

Ah Noel... you know I'm a nerd... nerds love stats Eye-wink

What large jump you talking about mind? Which page?
