Can you write a brief history of riding on the northern beaches?
So... fancy yourself as a writer or historian??
For a report I'm writing need a paragraph or two (or as many as you can write really) on the history riding on the Northern Beaches. If no-one else can help will just make it up myself, but that would only be based on speculation and hear-say as I've only been here a few years
So ideally would like to hear from someone who rode as a kid years ago, has grown up in the area and seen how changes have come about through that time.
Sorry, should have asked earlier as this is rather urgent and need something by tomorrow arvo at the latest (May 14!).
Please either email me your prose or comment with it here. Any old skool pictures you have will also help immensely. Already found flyers from MWMTB races in the 90s on their @rsebook site
Cheers!

Hey rob not sure if it will help but Brad Prescott was doing some research on early races including the 86 national champs at oxford falls for a magazine piece so you might be able to chase that up?
Ah, 'tis true Flynny, but sounds like that didn't get finished, although there he says there were some National DH races at Red Hill sounds like these were only the second nationals and someone out your way had the first.
Anyone remember said races at Red Hill?
Steve humphries from WSMTB would have the details from the state races 2002? and back I think But I'm sure they were at O Falls.
as for the Nationals I got this from Martin Whitney (via jim trail) who organised the Sofala race and possibly the Oxford falls one to.
