Does riding a Mt Bike make me an alien?
I hadn't really noticed before. But On Sunday I went for a burn on the bike. I was riding up a rd in Elanora, very slowly as it was very steep. I past a guy that was walking down the street, we made eye contact so I said "G'day", and gave the small nod. He looked at me, totally ignoring me and looked the other way. So I said loud enough so he could hear. "I'm good, thanks". Then later I was riding again in Elanora (I know, I'm desperate to ride my new bike... LOL), and past another person, in the same senario, to which the exact same thing happened...
However, whilst I was walking my dog with my wife in between rides. I saw a few people and said "G'day", and I got a hello back and people are nice.
Is it the bike? Or was it my missus and dog? Or have I missed something and MT bikers have a bad rep on the beaches?
I'm stumped...
I get more hello's and nods of approval on the beaches driving my commodore with a blower hanging out the bonnet, compared to riding my ozone friendly pushy.

Ok, but I'm guessing on your bike you were wearing sunnies and a helmet?
Try doing the walking bit with dark sunnies and a hoodie, and minus the missus and see how many ppl greet you back.
yes, your an alien. that's it !
cheers george.
Yeah, I was on my bike, hes Helmet was on and I had my riding/whippersnipping glasses on. Light yellow tint safety specs.
Dark sunnies and a hoody is a little different though. I'd look like a thug/hoodlum/young punk. But point taken. haha
Cheers George. hahah
If you post a picture of the Missus, and another of the dog, we'll be able to give you a definitive answer
My feeling is its probably the missus as I haven't noticed any problems with alien responses when riding.
HAHAHAHAH
I did forget to add, that I was in badn need for a shave, so I may have looked a bit more intimidating than normal... hahah
