Any good Climbing areas near good trails?
So to cut a long story short, newish to mtb but long time climber.
Does anyone know some nice cliffs near a good trail? I am thinking of a fun combined activity day for some like minded friends.
(I am assuming most would be up in the Blue Mountains?)

My memory is sketchy, but I think Bangor cliffs would be on the way to Lucas Heights / Menai.
Next time you see a ride posted by a guy called Heckler sign up for that ride, we call it hike-a-bike!
Whilst not the type of climbing you had in mind at least Hecklers rides combine both

There are some not too shabby cliffs on the southern side of the Wakehurst Parkway, you could ride up around red hill, down the back of the NSW Sports Centre, then back down the parkway.
* I use the terms cliffs loosely

I dont ride my bike, my bike rides me... we are currently in counseling...
How far into the Bluies are you willing to travel?
Blackheath has some good riding and nice Sport Cliffs
The ride out to Hanging rock at Baltaz Lookout is quite fun for fire rd with great views and classic climbs at the end.
Mt Vic, you can ride Mt York and then head over to Mt Piddington for a mix of trad and sport routes
The Wolgan has more of each than you could poke a stick at.... If you wanted to make a weekend of it I'd recommend this with the option of throwing in a bit of dry canyoning by riding down to Devils pinch and hiking up into the bottom of Newnes Canyon.
Closer to the basin you could do leave the car at Glenbrook gorge car park do the train shuttle to woodford ride the oaks and then there are some reasonable climbs in the gorge or over at Nepean Lookout..
If you're in Sydney, there is always a great afternoon's climbing at Narrabeen if you've been riding the morning at Manly, Oxford Falls or Red Hill. It even not too far if you've been doing St Ives & Terrey Hills Rides.
The "Slab" side is mainly easier stuff, up to about grade 23, but with lots most of the well traveled routes from 16 to 21. The "Steep" side doesn't see as much traffic, and as such only has a few climbable routes, but starting at 22 from memory (I've only been to that side 2 or 3 times). I head out to the "Slab" side fairly often if I can't get up to the Bluies for climbing. Take note though, the Slabs don't see any sun at all, so it needs a good week or so to dry after any rain there.
Drop me a message if you need more info on Narrabeen, I'd be more than happy to help
Cheers guys,
Blue mountains sounds like a surefire hit. I have done quite a few climbing trips to the Wolgans and there is some great cliffs out there.
This site is an excellent local online guide:

I'm a bit out of touch nowdays with the climbing scene, but there are some good bolted local routes to be had at berowra - catering for a wide range of grades. Also at lindfield behind the tennis club / lindfield oval.
Mainly bouldering around the northern beaches due to smaller cliff lines and npws restrictions...
Awesome climbing all though the Blue Mountains.
