Bikes in Car Advertising
Have you ever noticed how many car manufacturers use bikes in their ads? I find this a little ironic but as most of us refer to the car as a 'bike carrier' it's hardly surprising.
FWIW as I had to take a break from riding lately (medical - meh) haven't been driving much either. In fact filled the car last night for the first time in over 2 months!
Anyhow, that aside, here's a little game for anyone bored - how many car brochures or images on car manufacturer websites can you find with bikes? Post the links up here.
I'll start with:
- On the front cover and splashed all over the Skoda Scout brochure (http://skoda.com.au/pdf/brochure-scout.pdf)

Sure there's a zillion more, but don't have time to look right now. But I'm sure some rev heads will enjoy this thread

Reminds me of the mid 90's when every second car company were rebadging cheap mtbs and selling them for stupid prices.
I got a "holden" MTB in for a service at the moment. "How much would it be worth?" I was asked. I tried to be nice but considering they were a $200 dunlop with a $400 holden sticker (can't see why else they were rrp $600) what can you say?

There's the Triton ad where the bloke driving conveniently passes by a rather beautiful and sweaty girl who seems to have truly tacoed the front wheel of her mountain bike. I have no clue as to the brand or type of bike.
Nonetheless, the next scene shows them driving off with the bike in the back, presumably being driven home by the Triton driver. What a fine gent. It ended well for everyone...
Slightly off topic as they aren't a car manufacturer.
In their TV ad they showed a guy with a mountain bike who had just bought a light blue Subaru Forester (2007/08) with grey bumpers (the Columbia edition).
I can't find the link to the TV ad.
