Inter-state MTB Hire....

Having got a leave pass for a weekend in Bris-Vegas..I have decided to pack the essentials and leave the bike at home.

The plan is to hit-up Daisy Hill for a couple of days....early August. Smiling

That does mean that I am going on holiday without the loved ones and would like to be able to find a suitable ride at my destination.

Has anyone hired the use of a MTB before?

have contacted ForTheRiders bike store...will see what they can do...

Any advice greatly appreciated!

Shano,
I am heading up north a couple of weeks before you. Can't comment on quality of bikes, but there are some available for hire at OHV, which is about a 1.5 hours wast of Bris.
Extract from their site as follows - There are enough trails and tracks out here to keep you entertained all day. A nice mixture of terrain catering for the young ones through to the extreme thrill seekers. All up there is already more than 40km of rideable single track and a purpose built skills park along with plenty of management and farm roads for your epic rides and gut busting climbs. It's very easy to string together a short loop to a more challenging route of 5+ hours.

hire mtn bikes - the shop is about 5-10min from the city and maybe Lifecycles at Petrie Terrace - walking distance from the city.
In Dec last year we called around to a few of the BNE bike shops and found that not many hired mtb bikes however a few of them said that they were looking into doing it so it maybe worth getting the yellow pages out and giving a few of them a call.
just a tip - it maybe worth posting a similar post on www.mtbdirt.com.au (sth est qld mtb site) as some of the locals maybe able to help out. They also post regular rides as well so you maybe able to join some locals for a few laps.
In addition to Daisy Hill, you may also want to try Gap Creek (10min wst of the city) and Bunya (10-20min nth of the city) or if you can head south Nerang SF (40min sth)- i think Nerang MTB centre may hire out bikes as well (they used to).
