Wylde Ride

NB: Originally posted elsewhere on the Global Riders Network and appears via syndication.

The artwork is called ‘Wylde Ride’ and was created by Milne & Stonehouse

The artwork deconstructs cogs and bike elements and acts as a wind vane in celebration of the mountain bike track. It accompanies the refined mechanics, gearing and bicycle design with the sensation of wind and flying through the air.

New to Town

Hey everyone -
Thought I would introduce myself!
Just moved to the Northern Beaches from Vancouver, Canada back in January. Recently married and purchased a company out of Mona Vale so my stay is permanent.

Picked up a new Specialized Camber 29 and looking to get out on the trails.

New to the area and haven't had a chance to meet any new people yet. Would love to get out on the trails and meet some new people.

Feel free to send me a note if anyone would like to head out and have some fun on the bikes.

Cheers

Jason

Anyone ridden GNW from Heatons lookout to Olney lookout?

Just wondering if this area is rideable and not a total hike a bike?
Cheers

Woodford to Glenbrook Classic 2014: 25 km Blue Mountains

Below is a preview, click to read the full post

Join the CareFlight Woodford to Glenbrook Classic 2014 and run or ride the Oaks Fire Trail through the beautiful Blue Mountains National Park from the town of Woodford down to the Euroka Clearing near Glenbrook.

Covering 25km of undulating bushland, the trail is incredibly scenic and a must for keen mountain bikers and trail runners. Participants are supported the full length of the track by Rural Fire Service crews stationed along the way, providing First Aid and drinks. A CareFlight doctor and St John Ambulance volunteers will also be in support.

Bike Cases/Bags Big Bikes

Hi All,

I am looking for some feedback from people who use Bike Boxes/Bags for transporting their bikes, particularly by air. I'd be really keen to hear what solutions people with larger framed, full-suspension bikes have, particular 29ers. I have a Cannondale Scalpel 29er in an XL frame and am searching for a bike box/bag that I can get it into with out have to break it into its component pieces. I think I would prefer a hard/semi hard case to offer a little more protection for the bike.

Flats

This should be interesting... He he. Discuss.

"Being pro-flats isn’t the same as being anti-clipless and misapplying either pedal system in the name of blind ideology isn’t helping advance our sport as a whole."

Endurance Info

I am currently training for my first solo 8 hour in November. I've been searching the net for a few months now trying to get some 'tips' for endurance events, but I'm not finding a lot of info. A small 3-part series by Mark Fenner has been handy for training.

Anyone know of any good mtb specific websites or books? 'Ed Rides Bikes' is a great read, but not a whole lot of inside knowledge.

Mountain Bike Australia Mag

I've just noticed that 'Mountain Bike Australia' Magazine is now available for digital download on 'Zinio.' I have been quite happy using Zinio for the last few months - particularly a subscription to 'Surfer' & 'Bike' for $9 each.

Bargain.

This is not meant to be a promo! Just letting you all know. The American publication of 'Bike' at $9 for 9 issues is a bargain. (If a few of you are cunning enough, you could share a username/password and share subscriptions across multiple computers/tablets)
