Blurred plate
Coming back from a ride the other night, I got stopped for breath testing by the police. As the only thing i drank was gatorade, they instead gave me a fine for "blured plate" for some 350$!!! I think they were after a quota to fill...
Looking for some good pointers
Hello chaps/chapesses
Something of an exciting time for me as I'm finally getting the opportunity to build my own bike (Hardtail, with gears etc). All the parts are ordered (Lot's and lots of shiny) and on their way but I was wondering if any of you out there had and words of wisdom for a would be bike builders. Do's and don'ts, hints and tips, all that kind of thing.
Any information you can supply would be very much apprecaited. As an aside i'm going to put together a photo gallery / how to / blog type thingy as I've found information sparse on the web.
Cheers,
Help! Bent Rear Derailier Hanger
Hey everyone, i went for a ride a few days ago and went over a massive stick without realising :S In short i ended up with the chain guide thing behind a spoke in my wheel.
Now every time i go into first and second it absolutely chucks the chain. Can i just bend it back or will i make things worse?
Thanks
Jono
MAXXIS Detonator Slick MTB Tyre - What Tubes?
Hey Guys,
I just bought some MAXXIS Detonator Slick MTB Tyre - 26 x 1.50 inch from T7 (They're going cheap!) to whack on my MTB when commuting or for training when it's wet.
Question is can I run my current 1.90/2.125 tubes with these or do I need something narrower?
PS Here's the link to the cheap tyres - http://www.torpedo7.com.au/products/MXTYMN8DT/ti...
clip in's
Hi, I have decided, after some thought, I am ready to start riding with clip in's. I have my heart set on a pair of Crank Bros. Do I need a specific shoe or are they all combatable? eg will shimano or diadora shoes clip in?
Thanks

hydro disk brakes
Hi all, problem is I have just replaced my rear disk brakes and have got everything back together fine but the drag on the wheel seems to be a little excessive and I barely need to touch the lever to get the tyre to lock up. What I would like to know is there a way of loosing the pads or do i need to wait until they wear down slightly?
any help is greatly appreciated. Matt
2008 Fox Talas RLC Forks
I have a Reign 0 fitted with 2008 Fox Talas RLC forks. Over the past 6 months the seals have been replaced on 3 occassions. In the first instance the seals were leaking oil, then on the second occassion (approximately 3 months after the first) the seals were again leaking oil and on the third occassion the forks were suffering from stiction (when I released the travel setting from 100mm position to a longer travel position the fork remained stuck at the lower setting for extended periods of time before reaching full travel).
Urgent Help - Magura Marta - SORTED
Hi everyone.
UPDATE - the great guys at Jet Black, in association with the Trek Store at Rouse Hill came to my rescue at the last minute. My wonderful girlfriend drove out to Rouse in the rush hour and picked up 2 x sets of pads with the shop due to close in 1minute.
Thanks to everyone who came with suggestions and generous offers - overwhelming.
I reckon the race might get postponed now due to weather, that would be ironic.
Thanks again.
Anthony
I ordered some brake pads earlier in the week from my LBS and they havent arrived as promised.
Kenda Nevegal Tires
I'm thinking of replacing the tires on my Trek and considering some Nevegal tires, anybody know who stocks them on the north shore?
Cheers
