Bike Racks

For school i am looking at making a bike rack which fully incloses your bike on the back of the car to minimise the bike from being damaged or stolen. I was wondering if you could please fill out this survey for my research.

It will take no more than 3 mins.

Thanks in advance
Ben

Tapered steerer tube's

NB: Originally posted elsewhere on the Global Riders Network and appears via syndication.

I'm in the market to buy some new/secondhand forks after mine came up worse for wear after last week's off.

Bike involved is a 2014 Scott Scale

I've confused myself so my question is..Are 1.5” tapered the same as 1.25"-1.5" tapered steerer tubes or as I suspect are they different.

Cheers
Buster

Help on Crank Bro's Egg Beater Pedals

Hi Folks,

I have some egg beaters that are coming loose between the black axle and the silver bit (see where the white is sticking out).

Why does this happen and what do I need to do to fix them?

Any advice appreciated.

Reasonably priced prescription cycling glasses

Below is a preview, click to read the full post

The subject of riding glasses comes up from time to time and I thought I'd share this as I thought it might be useful to forum members.

If anyone is looking for affordable prescription glasses to suit road cycling or mountain biking, I've just completed a review of an Israeli product called Shamir Attitude that is available through your optometrist. Mine were supplied via Blink Optical at Warringah Mall.

Recommend bike repair workstand

Hi all, can anyone recommend a reasonably priced stand for doing basic at home repairs and services? Or what should I look for in a stand? Are there different ones for MTB and road bikes? I guess as long as the top tube or stem fit it should be fine right... Cheers for any info/recommendations!

Bike hooks for corporate bike storage

Below is a preview, click to read the full post

Hey,

As some of the guys on the forum know we're looking to put in some bike hooks at our office to create a secure location for bike storage.

Being in Belrose we're fortunate enough to have direct access to all of the St Ives / Terry Hills MTB trails and to the Akuna Bay road rides.... and with a number of cyclists in the team we need somewhere to store all our bikes. Nice problem to have hey!

Bike Security...London Style

NB: Originally posted elsewhere on the Global Riders Network and appears via syndication.

Just returned from a trip to London and saw this in Kentish Town.

If you can't saw through the bike lock...try cutting the bike in half. Makes sense.

Picking a New Saddle

NB: Originally posted elsewhere on the Global Riders Network and appears via syndication.

I am in the market for a new saddle and am keen for any recommendations.

Currently using a Brooks B17 which I love for the comfort but when I'm chucking it about on the trails it bashes my inner thighs too much.

Canyon Strive

Has anyone test ridden the Canyon Strive? I spent a couple of hours on one today at Stromlo and I'd be interested to hear what others think about it.
