Cyclocross nations, trails used?

Which trails is the event this weekend using? Want to go riding with my girl on perimeter and long but don't want to get in the way!

Dam condition / anyone fancy an early ride this week?

Below is a preview, click to read the full post

Just seeing what the latest on the Dam is? Rideable? I live in manly vale and it seems to have mostly dried up around us, but keen to hear from anyone who's ridden/walked it in the last day or so

If its rideable, I'll be heading out early tomorrow morning (5:15ish) for a couple of pre-work laps (and some night riding practice for the jet black 12 hr that's coming up) - anyone care to join?

Oxford falls firetrail ok?

I was thinking of taking a novice mate on for a firetrail ride on the weekend.

Anyone know if the Oxford falls firetrail is ok after the last few days of drying out weather?

He should handle ok if it's a bit damp, but axle deep puddles would be another story.

dry tracks

All - looking for tips on were to ride this weekend. I was thinking something on the Northern beaches maybe west of Wakehurst Parkway?? not to familiar with the tracks & how quickly they drain after heavy rain.
I have ridden long trail at Terrey Hills, something different is preferable

Thanks in advance.

Council gone mad?

I can't believe Warringah Council has opened the Dam again after all this rain (posted on Facebook yesterday). You only need to drive around the area to see all the water still seeping out of the ground. Even at the Wakehurst Parkway entrance where they've taken down where closed sign is a massive puddle.

Obviously they have lower standards than the informed MTB community.

Dam status

Anyone got an update on the Dam status, Warringah website says it's open, I would imagine it's wet??

Is this the ultimate bike for Manly Dam

Was going to look at converting my Sworks Epic to 650B, but I reckon that its a good chance to wreck it as its not really built for Manly Dam type tracks which is the majority of my riding these days.
I think this thing will blow the socks of at Manly Dam. What are your thoughts? To me it looks like a good mix of everything!

Which side of the track do you ride?

Below is a preview, click to read the full post

Not a big deal but I get this happening from time to time on Perimeter and Long.
Your riding along.....today I was on the right hand side wheel track heading out to Long. Spot a guy coming the other way on the opposite wheel track - Sweeet. Then he crosses onto my track making me dive to the other side to avoid a head-on. This happens a bit. Well twice in last two rides. I generally ride on whatever side suits me (traction, terrain etc) at the time and am very wary of head ons on that track so always yield if someone is coming for me - but why cross into someones path?
