Red Hill for a noob - help wanted

Below is a preview, click to read the full post

Hi guys, i'm new to the forums recently returned to the MTB world and just wanted some advice.

I live in Narrabeen and work in Frenchs Forest so have started riding to and from work - I don't feel comfortable riding on the wakehurst so i'm going via willandra road (gee thats a fun hill).

I'm keen to add some offroad to my home trip and Red Hill seemed like the perfect place for it. Having read the info on NOBMOB it sounds like its actually quite technical and difficult - so i'm a little hesitant to go it, particularly as i'll be hitting it solo.

Rear light found at Manly Dam...

... this morning. I am afraid the battery cover is missing, let me know if it is yours and want to pick up from either Manly or Artarmon (0413596924).

2012 a year of fails

I have literally hundreds of hours, hundreds of gigabytes, of great trail riding from my first full year of Mountain Biking.

But here's 1 minute 44 seconds of total incompetence.

Final stage of Narrabeen Lagoon Trail under construction - NO ACCESS

Below is a preview, click to read the full post

There has been some new signage put up in the last few weeks about construction commencing by Warringah Council & Cromer Golf Course to complete the final link in the Narrabeen Lagoon Multi-Use Trail loop.

It has always been possible to ride/walk the Narrabeen Lagoon loop through the NSW Sports Academy & Cromer Golf course, but as of 17/12/12, the gates have been locked & new high fencing put up to prevent access. The new signs state that this is due to the area now becoming a construction site, & will not re-open till mid 2014... bugger!

Has the Dam smoothed out recently?

Hi All

I had my first ride in a couple of months today which was also the first ride on my new dually (Superlight 26") frame coming from a hardtail. Even though I am out of form the bike was great and smoothed out a lot of things.

Fast laps of the Dam...start at The Parkway or the Pump station?

Or is there no difference in the end.
I always start at the parkway but was wondering if there's a school of thought about this out there.
Was wondering if having fresh legs for the climb to the Trig point would make it easier for the whole lap.
