Fatman

Taskled Fatman.

A good choice for current driver if you don't need the high tech microprocessor control features of a MaxFlex.
Will output up to 1000mA and 16V. Input voltage must be lower than output as it is a boost driver.

Lights

I am looking to do night rides but don't know what light to buy.

Can anyone recommend riding lights.
Brand/price/shop would be handy but type and lumens is enough

Cheers Kianga

Deal Extreme Torches

Below is a preview, click to read the full post

Someone was recently asking about DIY lights, cheaper options than Ay-Up, etc, etc.

Well - if you can't build your own but want that cheaper option there are various Cree powered torches floating around at very reasonable prices. There's an interesting post on MTBR about Deal Extreme gear for example:

Although DX appears to have some quality issues you cannot argue with their prices.

The TR-801 can be had with a Q5 Cree ($17.52):

Tassie Trail

Hi,

I'm looking for some advice on best kit to buy for a trip I'm planning to the Tassie Trail. What is best type of bag for carrying kit, a back pack or under seat bag, I'm going light and have looked at the Carraidice SQR Trax, but all the MTB riders appear to use backpacks. Is this because of weight distribution? Any advice on this for a long ride?

Also what is the best head light to use for night rides?

Lastly has anyone done a ride like this (480KM's) and what sort of preperation did they do to get cycle fit for 6-7 days full riding?

Cheers
Hemsy

Craig's DIY Lights

Here are the sneak pics of my new lights that are in practical completion and very very close to a test ride. Well they are in the lighting section in the gallery once moderated.

Craig's DIY Lights Craig's DIY Lights 2 Craig's DIY Lights 3 Craig's DIY Lights 4

There are so many new parts and construction ideas that the final completion tends to drag on.

I know I know, incorporate the fixes into second set.

I will give details of the parts and build process in later posts.

Cheers

Triple cree kit

Thinking of ordering the triple cree light kit from cutter and wondering if anyone can offer advice on the best optics, ie narrow or medium, which is the better driver, what is the optimum battery size and whether it works best as a helmet or bar mount.
Any advice would be apreciated

Buying Ayups - group discount

Hello all,

Some mates are purchasing some Ayups shortly, as a group. To talk Ayup into giving us a decent discount, we will need more buyers involved. I don't have a final figure to give you at the moment. However the standard cost for the regular kit is $395, but we should get the freight waived, plus a reduction in the per unit cost.

If you have not got your lights yet, why not get in on the action? Eye-wink Let me know asap.

Thanks!!
Liam.
