Buying Ayups - group discount
Hello all,
Some mates are purchasing some Ayups shortly, as a group. To talk Ayup into giving us a decent discount, we will need more buyers involved. I don't have a final figure to give you at the moment. However the standard cost for the regular kit is $395, but we should get the freight waived, plus a reduction in the per unit cost.
If you have not got your lights yet, why not get in on the action?

Stuart, its not the dark side, maybe Tien has seen the "light". Going Ay-Ups will also be a huge weight off his shoulder/back pack/frame.
Yes Tien, I can confirm we will be getting the new sort. I am just asking for numbers at this point.

Stuart: Ay-ups with the DIY Triple Cree on my bike - man that will be over 1000 lumens! Won't be any good if i can't go for night rides again/often :0(
But it depends on the level of poverty I'm in when you're purchasing them, I'd say 80% chance of getting an endurance set.

Beam widths? Do a search on this website for "Ayup". You'll find heaps of discussion about beam widths. Me? I will be ordering a narrow and an intermediate.
Please don't turn this thread into a discussion about Ayup equipment. There are other posts available for this.

We have 11 people in for lights so far, and are looking to get freight waived, and a discount on RRP of between 5-10%. A savings of about $20-40.

Hi all,
We are still in contact with the Ayups guys. We have not finalised the group buy yet (as at Friday 14/09/07). So there is no latest news to report.
I will touch base again next week to give you the final details. At this stage, a 7.5% discount with no freight cost is expected.
I will broadcast a post here about payments as soon as I know the details. As an educated guess, I am assuming you will need to EFT some money to an account (either mine or theirs), rather than make individual credit card payments, etc.

We should be in a position to order the lights on Monday next week, 24/09/07. No final cost figures available yet, as the Ayup boys have been cycling in NZ for the last few days. Will let you know on Monday the score... so watch this space.
Tien, yes we should definitely have the lights before the Mont practice. All of the beam widths are available at the moment, so we are not expecting any delays. I also want these lights for that weekend as well - in case we use them.

Where could I pick them up from and how will I pay you?
I just need your order details for now.
At this stage, the pick up will be from me, either in the city in BH, or from Cremorne AH. We can make an easy enough arrangement. I could meet you somewhere between my house and Marsfield for a drop off mid week, if that proves easiest.
Payment details will be provided later - although we are expecting to be able to EFT money individually / directly to Ayups. We don't have the bank details yet.
