Drop off practice
A fine good Friday morning to all,
Pure and simply I suck at drop offs, and struggle to get confidence on drops offs that are on trails that I ride purley for the ouch factor when I inevitably stuff it up. I've just seen this photo and looks like it has minimal consequences for a fall, can somone point me in the direction of where i can find this spot . ( I'll even let you know wghen I'm going down so we can go halves in the prize money for australias funniest home video when we take out the grand prize !!!)
Cheers Sam

Dave Weagle’s Split Pivot suspension system awarded patent
From the man who brought you DW*Link, here's another one.
The spiel doesn't mention efficiency but does mention fun. Can we assume this is more for 'gravity' bikes then?
It looks a whole lot like Trek's ABP, as mentioned in the article:

Those on the sharp end of cycling injuries want to keep the laws
SMH article on the merits of the federal law relating to compulsory wearing of helmets while cycling. Interestingly, the poll in the article is currently split 50/50! It's a no brainer for me. Protect yer noggin at all costs.

NoBMoB Feature in Pittwater Community Guide
A bit of shameless self promotion never goes amiss
I was asked to write a piece on MTB for Pittwater Community Guide and very nice to see it received a full page to itself (see attached).
Let's hope this encourages more people in the area to get out there!

Well my turn
I will be off the bike for a bit as I damaged a finger at work doing something I have done thousands of times, there goes my training now

CCOMTB - Club Race - 2010 Round 10 - 6 hour Final
The meeting times are 'ready to ride'. If you need time to prepare equipment then please arrive a few minutes earlier.
North End of Red Hill Rd, Ourimbah State Forest. There's a large-ish parking area here, just off the main sealed road. There is also a smaller parking area a little further (400m or so from the road) where the trail splits - this second area is the usual meeting point. If you end up driving up a steep hill you've gone too far.
Awesome race at the best track around (ok, so I'm biased). Come along and race, and be home for lunch. Please park at the upper car park, I believe the lower one shouldn't be used by MTB riders any more.
XC Race day Fees are $15.00 plus an additional $15 for an MTBA day license if you don't have one. Registration is from 8am, racing starts at 9.30 sharp.

Don't miss the final epic 6 hour race to the brilliant CCOMTB season.
