Irate Ascents
I've managed to get into the Angry doctor/irate intern 50km race this year....yay...! what sort of track is it, i believe there are a lot of short climbs , are the descents as common, should i be practicing lots of hill climbs.Lookin forward to this one.!

old shoes need cleaning
hi all, used to ride a while ago but back problems put me out for a good 2yr, now going to a mates to service my bike and replace the brake ppads on wednesday before we go for a ride. going through my gear i got my shoe out but there got a bit of mould on the outside from sitting in the bottom of the wardrobe, any ideas on the best way to clean them and what to treat them with- the materials suede. thanks in advance.
Awaba State Forest update for 02 Aug
The short yellow loop is in great condition! But the slightly longer loop (blue?) does have some very damp patches through that rainforest section. That section almost gets no sunlight at all. More rain is due, so stay off the longer loops. But the yellow short loop is great!

Ourimbah State Forest update for 02 Aug
Quite damp and slippery in sections. Dry in other. The Graveyard has a few pools of water and is getting cut up in sections.

New gate at Ralston and Elm...
Just back from a night ride and saw this new gate - almost invisible at night!
There is a gap on the right to get in but no signs or info.
I guess they are trying to keep out the MX bikes and stop the dumping along near the EA substation.
I usually ride through here to get to Cascades.
Anyone know any more info on this?
Mavic freehub issue?
Had an interesting experience scooting down Duck Holes today. There was this huge buzzing noise like i had a stick or leaf or something caught in my back suspension and it was rubbing on the tyre, so I stopped to pull offending item out. Nothing there. Happened a few more times, including one time when I couldn't hear it due to wind noise, but could feel it through the frame.
Terrey Hills update for 01 Aug
Rode the perimeter + long track today. Normal wet spots for the first 2-3 km from the starting point (oval), fairly good after that. A couple of big puddles on the long track warrant carrying your bike.

rode there this morning, the track is in excellent condition except for the low laying areas just after the steep chute, muddy & slippery down there will probably take a few days with no rain to dry out.

Centre Track update for 01 Aug
Dry and in good condition. This is probably the best northern Sydney riding option today with the recent rains rendering most of the trails sticky and muddy.

Duck Hole/Terrey Hills Trail update for 01 Aug
Quite wet but very rideable. This is probably the best northern Sydney riding option today with the recent rains rendering most of the trails sticky and muddy.
