North Turramurra update for 04 Aug
Sniggle from Macrae Pl to Samuel King Oval has more wet patches than I've seen before, and they're getting cut up by the traffic. Not much sunlight down there, so best give it a few more days. Lovers Jump Ck track is boggy at the top (at Burns Rd) and at the bottom (at the bottom of the steps), but otherwise pretty good. Some slippery rocks at the creek crossing, so be careful.

Manly Dam update for 04 Aug
There is a huge amount of groundwater seepage in the nature strips in the surrounding streets, indicating that all low-lying trail sections are going to be very soggy.
Reports from other local riders confirm this, and that the boggy areas have become badly cut up and damaged from people continuing to ride in these conditions.
Stay off the trail until at least the weekend.
Next update Saturday morning.

Bobbin Head update for 04 Aug
A few wet patches on the flat, but otherwise good. The hill back up seems steeper after limited riding over the last few weeks but....

A nice surprise in the mail
Got home after a very ordinary day at work, and look what was waiting for me
'Tis a Spot Rocker 29er belt drive single-speed. First time for me on both a 29er and a singlespeed.
The weather looks promising for the weekend, although unfortunately the Dam is probably still going to be too wet. Once I've had a couple of rides by myself to get used to the thing, I'll probably organise a Show and Tell ride for those who might be interested.

No Trains Running on Blue Mountains Line This Weekend
Just a quick update for anyone looking at riding the train up for an an Oaks run etc. A good weekend to ride up & back! There will be buses only between Lithgow & Blacktown.

Downhill/ All around protection
Hey everyone,
So, I went for my first race... and got absolutely mashed! I had a great time overall, but I was wondering if I could get some recommendations on what brand and model:
-Body armor
-Shin/knee guards
-and full face helmet to buy
Thanks everyone!

Trance x3 review?
Hi everybody,
I'm thinking of buying a Trance x3... I'll be using it for Manly Dam and the likes (maybe occasionally a bit of downhill), but i was wondering if anyone here has any previous experience with the x3 or any of the other bikes in the trance series, any advice or opinions would be greatly appreaciated.
Cheers, Boulder

Menai not so mad!

OPPOSITE THE ENTRANCE TO ANSTO ON THE NEW ILLAWARRA ROAD, LUCAS HEIGHTS.
Seems just lately everyone is posting "madness" rides, so to be different this is a none madness ride.
This will be a XC type ride where the pace will be brisk and stops will be limited. There will be no North shore action and for once armor is not advised.
However, for those that don't know Menai, there will be technical ups and downs, there are a number of rocky sections and new comers to night riding might find this a bit tough.
Hope to see a few of you there.
