Broken connex chain link

Whilst it is tempting to keep using those nifty connex quick links, you should bear in mind that they don't last forever. You can get away with using an old one while you go through a couple of chains, but leave it too long, and they suffer from metal fatigue.

Parents & kids ride (Narrabeen Lagoon, part there of)

When:
Saturday, 12 January, 2008 - 10:00

The meeting times are 'ready to ride'. If you need time to prepare equipment then please arrive a few minutes earlier.

Meeting Point:

Narrabeen Lagoon: The public carpark on the lagoon next to shops at the bus terminal on the left as you approach the bridge off Pittwater rd.

Show on Google maps: Meeting point. Login or register to get directions.

My 8 year old daughter Casey can no longer wait to be a member of NoBMoB therefore this Sat we hope to start a new trend of kids rides. I have chosen this ride as it is around 7km return trip and near dead flat (we can do shorter if younger kids tire), the trail hugs the lagoon and takes in nice bush single track. Casey and her brother Nic 13 have ridden it many times.

We are riding regardless.

STOLEN - Giant NRS 2.0 and GT ZUM 1.0

Below is a preview, click to read the full post

As of yesterday I have had both my bicycles stolen - One Giant NRS2.0 and one GT ZUM 1.0

I have no one to blame but myself (and the bastard/s that did it) - but nonetheless, on the off chance that someone who reads this comes accross either of these machines on eBay or in clasifieds or elsewhere, I thought it would be worth posting.

Here's a quick description of each in case you see something similar and think it might be mine.

Giant NRS 2.0
Frame is small and metalic red.
Shock is RockShox SID Rear
Forks are RockShox Psylo U-Turn (80-125mm)
Mavic UST tubeless rims

Peak Mob

Rob, Cupcake & Ditty at the summit of Mt Kosciusko. Highest place in Australia and hardly chilly! Laughing out loud

You can't ride up here so lock your bike at Rawson Pass and come on up!

Forbidden Trail

This is the 'Main Range Trail'. It runs from Rawson Pass to Charlottes Pass via a more northerly route - look how beautiful it looks snaking away into the distance there.

This would would make an ideal loop for riders. But NPWS don't see it that way and instead spoilt brat bush walkers are the only ones allowed here.

Not happy Jan!
