As of yesterday I have had both my bicycles stolen - One Giant NRS2.0 and one GT ZUM 1.0

I have no one to blame but myself (and the bastard/s that did it) - but nonetheless, on the off chance that someone who reads this comes accross either of these machines on eBay or in clasifieds or elsewhere, I thought it would be worth posting.

Here's a quick description of each in case you see something similar and think it might be mine.

Giant NRS 2.0
Frame is small and metalic red.
Shock is RockShox SID Rear
Forks are RockShox Psylo U-Turn (80-125mm)
Mavic UST tubeless rims
Shimano XTR rear derailier
Shiman XT front derailier
Magura Marta hydraulic disc brakes
ODI lock-on grips
Easton bars
DMR V8 pedals
Maxxis LarsenTT Tubeless rear tyre
Bontrager 2.2 front tyre
CatEye Micro Wireless computer

GT ZUM 1.0 (Zaskar Urban Machine)
Frame is large and silver (hard tail)
Forks are Suntour 9100 air shock
Full Shimano LX componetry
Super light wheels sets (10 spoke)
Continental TownCountry tyres

Crap bar-ends

Ok that's it...

PS. I'm not looking for sympathy, but if anyone sees something and thinks it might be either of these then please get in touch.

Cheers, Timshel

How do they get stolen when they are locked inside? I'm interested to know how bikes get stolen as I want to prevent the same happening to me.

Thanks for posting the pic Kriss.

Noel, as I alluded to in my original post, the theft was avoidable and, had I been sensible about it, it would not have happened. Anyway, I'd rather not go into details, but suffice to say that common sense will keep you're bike safe 9/10 times - don't let them out of your sight, don't leave them where they are easily accessible to public, even locked. Friends of mine in Bristol would always use both a D lock and a cable lock leaving their bike in the street - they reckoned that a D lock was bustable with a car jack and a cable lock could be cut with bolt cutters, and most thieves carry one but not the other.

Bristol was one of those places in the world where your mates were just as likely to sit their bicycle seat on the pub table as their mobile phone.
